Its a wine sold at Trader Joe's. It's called Charles Shaw and it's only $2 a bottle, hence the nickname 2 buck chuck

Picked up a bottle of Flor de Cana Centenario Gold 18 year rum today.

My impressions:

Very smooth rum. No afterburn in the mouth/throat. Tastes of dark chocolate and caramel, with a bit of a charred oak taste, from being aged 18 years in oak barrels. Some people may be put off by the oak taste, but I personally liked it. The rum also comes in a 12 year version, which I haven't tried, but would assume doesn't have quite as strong of an oak taste to it.

Very good sipping rum, which is the way I prefer it. If you wanted to mix it with coke, I believe it would mix nicely. I think that the rich, sweet flavors of rum go together with coke really well in general.

Just got back from Vacation in Southern Califorinia ... 9 days in Del Mar by San Diego and Monarch Beach in Orange County. My new favorite cocktail is a French 75: gin, champagne, lemon juice and sugar.

@SCS That sounds really nice. The 12 year sounds excellent

You're suppose to drink Ten High in a pastic bottle when f**ked up. That way the bottle doesn't break when you pass out on the streets of the south side ...

2 buck chuck anyone?

two dollars is the price of a good beer my friend

besides, there are quite drinkable wines for $8, very good ones for 12-15 and excellent ones for 20

in honor of BF II (Bodog edition) Frown , i have time to drink again Smile.

i'm on a lo-carb diet and not looking to get into drunken bar fights so am looking for red wines now.

what is the equivalent of 2 buck chuck outside of Trader Joe's?

just answering my own question, and i found a better Two Buck Chuck.

Rex Goliath Cabernet. $6.35 after tax. $5/bottle by the case. swirl, sniff, sip, repeat. yeah, wine is kinda cool, and goes great with Hey Ball.
