^^^ I understand, but I felt like I had some leaks at the FT, not just one hand. Reading the entire HH of a 45 man is a bit much, but if you are having trouble in a particular area of a tour ament as a reader I want to get a feel of what the other stacks are doing at that level(s).

I do have a few hands that can be reviewed on an individual basis, but those ar for another day Smile

I'd recommend it that you guys just post hands which you didn't feel comfortable. I guess reviewing the whole HH could get pretty time consuming, as there isn't just one guy here playing tournaments Wink

+1
Good point of view.

Hey Guys, I'm really struggling and can't even beat the $1 game on FTP. This is really frustrating for me because, if you check my pokerlabs/topshark (hotdiggy1121 pokerstars) for my last 2000 games you'll see that I'm a "winning" player. The thing is, when I was winning money I wasn't playing with discipline or BR mgmnt. I'm being disciplined now , I think, and geez..it's hard. Anyway, I've been studying cash games also to try to get better and I'm starting to be a little more of a calling station. As I do this,I'm seeing that quite a few pots I was losing due to being bluffed off the best hand. I need to run some stuff in PT3 to see what my results are in this pots I'm calling.

ANYWAY, check this HH from yesterday where I was playing horribly. I normally play AA a little stronger on the flop bet, but I've been trying some different things to try to induce action when I have the best hand. I feel like I should have folded....I'm sure I should have folded, but I didn't and I'm including the results so you can see his cards. What tha hell was going on here?

CO: t1560 M = 34.67
BTN: t7410 M = 164.67

Pre Flop: (t45) Hero is MP2 with A Heart A Club
3 folds, Hero raises to t60, 2 folds, SB calls t45, BB calls t30

Flop: (t180) 3 Club T Heart K Diamond (3 players)
SB bets t120, BB folds, Hero raises to t240, SB calls t120

Turn: (t660) K Club (2 players)
SB bets t1870 all in, Hero calls t1125 all in

River: (t2910) 6 Diamond (2 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: t2910
SB shows 8 Club Q Club (a pair of Kings)
Hero shows A Heart A Club (two pair, Aces and Kings)
Hero wins t2910

I think you can raise much more on the flop. Maybe this is a problem in my game but I am hoping on the flop to either get it in with my AA or get the other guy to fold.

I'll take what I can get. I enjoy looking for spots where people might have missed a raise or something similar.

I'd be happy to review these as total tourneys. Personally, I have a hard time focusing on hands in a vacuum. I like to get an idea for the flow of the tourney. Besides, the other guys are probably playing more than me since I made a committment to myself to spend 60% of my poker time studying versus 40% playing. If you send them to microsnggroup@gmail.com I'll download and review. It'll probably be Wednesday night before i post a response though.

If there are any major problems with the time I can change it but this time seemed to work last time.

Thanks for the responses guys. But calling the shove on that board is suicide though, right? I felt like I was spewing and was surprised when I won the pot. Now that I look at it, though, it's not a bad play on his part to shove with the flush draw, is it? Normally, I'd only be calling with a K and fold all other hands. Even when I call he hits the flush like 20% of the time.

To add to this I think some of the best improvements in my tournament play came from railing good players.

@HotDiggy
to your AA hand. Definitely a leak is your minraising preflop. It's actually horrible. You HAVE TO raise 3x to 4x the BB in this stage of the tourney.
Same on the flop. Min-raising doesn't provide you anything. It has to be at least something like t400.

Agreed. I'm pretty embarrassed looking at it now. I refocused since starting my blog. Playing tighter, more deliberately, and really just more focused. I did a book review on my blog and it reminded me to use the slow time early in the tourney for taking notes. It passes the time and keeps boredom at bay. I've learned a LOT, really quickly and it's helping me to go back and review old notes because I've forgotten some of the details.
