Hi BW,
Really like the vid. You've been an advocate before of never flatting 3-bets out of position given 100bb stacks, yet you do it in this video. I assume you've changed your views on this subject, why? It'd be interesting if you could discuss a bit more about flatting 3-bets oop and the right spots to do it.
Thanks!
not going to get into it in this format, but we'll talk about it more in videos as it comes

FWIW, he advocates flatting OOP when your equity CRUSHES your opponents' (polarised) hand range.
lol so you snap happily on a rivered spade? i suppose vs me it can't be too bad.
no no, I meant on the actual board - in my imagination you chose that exact moment to demonstrate "coming over the top" on the river ![]()

interesting to think about what you do if riv is 2
you bet and i shove. not a happy world for you i imagine
No offence but you defend your PTR results by saying your up 120k at NL2k, but the last time you played at those stakes according to PTR was October 2009? Any recent results? I'm not trying to say your not good at poker cause you obviously are but it's a bit strange.

Andrew I really think this K3 suited shove on the flop is bad. I think its a toss-up between calling and folding, depending on the villain's flop aggression in 3-bet pots. If he has a flush draw or straight draw, he'd probably just jam, so this minraise is air or nuts and the air just folds to your shove and you dont get any extra value out of it.
Calling to induce further action or calling to fold to further action (if you think he never follows thru) is almost certainly better.

The games are the same difficulty now as they were in October 2009. Andrew's 10/20 results are plenty valid, and this is a classic showcase of the extreme difficulty of 25/50, not Andrew sucking in the slightest. Yeh if Andrew was purporting to know the keys to crushing 25/50 you might have a valid point, but he's not.

He said he didn't play much the last year. He traveled. He explained it all in his video.

This AA is a must 4-bet against this guy. You certainly arent going to induce enough action out of K7o's that 3-bet bluff and then pair up on the flop, and you lose a ton of action from something like AK or JJ that shuts down after they see a nasty flop (but that would have stacked off pre to a 4-bet)
Just because his 3-betting range might be polarized doesnt give you enough of a reason to flat this oop.
I dont effing care what his PTR says - reality is you are backing the judgement of Jay, Joe etc in their judgement of the coaches cred.
If BW was FOS I think someone would have picked up on it by now.
I do get the feel though that some of the lines in this series are kinda different to previous videos - but I am not good enough to know why or if that is a good thing or evidence of what exactly.
I have watched and played some 1-2 and 2-4 spectularly unsuccessfully - truth be told - but Andrew you sort of mention the table is playing push bottey or splashey at time. I mean most of my play this year was on stars but this PF stuff, splashey aggro stuff seems the way of it most of the time.....in my probably completely wrong opinion fwiw.
Good to see you back into the swing of things...........and I rate these over those shorts.

I don't like your turn call here with A high.
This is just such a horrible barreling card for him and he has to expect you to fold your air a lot on the flop so imo he isn't very likely to barrel often enough to make this a call.
Yeah, his value range isn't all too big, but if he just barrels his value hands it's still bad to call.
And you don't have even close to a dynamic were it would be ok to c/c because he knows that you know that he knows it is a bad barreling card and is therefore barreling it or whatever ![]()

I think you should make it a bit bigger there preflop.
22$ looks just too good of a price for especially the button to call preflop.
And we basically just want them to fold more than calling, although it's not a totally horrible spot if we get called given our hand is not so bad in a 3bet pot.
I'd rather make it 24$ there, this one little big blind changes a lot there imo.

Great Vid![]()
@this JJ-hand:
What is your play if he would 2ndBarell the turn - imo fold?
Furthermore@preflop:
Without reads it is probably a good idea to treat the spot like vs. the average REG on this limit.
Said this,
the average REG is in SBvsBTN
a.) 3betting a wide, but often deploar. range -> here it makes sense to 4bet/C because you can make preflop 35%+ PotEQ-shares to fold whixh is attractive
b.) 3bet/5betJam often with TT, and some % with Axs, small pockets....
So I would without reads slighlty prefer here to 4bet/C - also to protect pre my not too low Bluff4bet_Range in BTNvsSB....
edit:
at least he point a.) I had not to write - next time i will listen to the very end of a hand before i aks a question![]()
