The liquidpoker-link is in fact pretty lol - only a few comments are senseful.
on topic:
I somewhat can understand the worries of ppl, but maybe to make such a thread is the wrong way.
Anyways,
The reason why I can understand the uncertainties is, b/c most of us who are here to clear,
just have not the clear ability to 100% sure recognize if somebody is a good coach or not,
just based on your own assumptions.
Assumptions of someone who has not sooo much experience with this stuff and in the poker-biz in general, can be wrong.

I think OP has a point here.
In any industry or actually in anything when we learn some new skills we always do it from other people, from experienced people. I mean absolutely any skill any of us has today, he has it by learning from others directly or indirectly.
People will always look up on other people who actually currently successful in what they do, successful today, not yesterday or years ago.
When we looking on poker and how games get tougher and trickier from year to year there is no reason why some beginner shouldn't look up and try to model and learn from people who have success playing poker today and not 2-3 years ago.
The poker industry is still very young industry compared to others, and for that reason it still changes rapidly, it is important to learn to bit today games from people who successful today and who keep their finger on the pulse.

Danny, WoT, Emil and FFF all have negative earning dollars but they all do have positive winrate. In other words for the PTR fans, they did not run the way they were supposed to be... Btw they also play on different websites so its like having a look at only a tiny portion of their overall results... This PTR Coach listing is obv not really good for DC because most of the Internet players who are not educated only focused on the $$$ outcome to make their judgement whether or not the coach is good which is totally wrong obv.

what if I went on a massive heater for the upcoming 100k hands and I was crushing and within 4 months of play playing 200nl (and I only have been playing a year)
would U want me to coach you since my PTR is "hot"?

well, this should only add fuel to the PTR idiocy. They have Vanessa Selbst down 20 grand, guess she's a fish you shouldn't get coaching from
LOL yeah... but that list looks TERRIBLE for Deuces Cracked.

jk3a didn't make their list...
2.05 BB/100 over 130k hands at FTP. Including 1.5 BB/100 win rate at 400nl 6max over 70k+ hands. And he played as recently as yesterday.
6.5 BB/100 over 30k hands on PS
jk3a is excellent. He is both a winner is todays games and he communicates ideas exceptionally well imo. The second part is most important when it comes to being a poker coach.

I think it's more than a little condescending to suggest that people who place some stock in PTR are all uneducated and wrong. PTR is far from the be all and end all of judging a coach, but when sample sizes for a coach on PTR are significant enough, then there is some value/merit to the information on their pages.

so how do you feel then about the coaches of DC when you look @ PTR?
do you ignore a video from krantz now you see his PTR?
and the question is sincere, no bashing or anything like that
just trying to understand what somebody means when they say 'there is some merit to the information on their pages'
