4pm EST today.
I'd like to play today, if possible. I have my new Asus laptop (thank you sports bettors) so we've got some horsepower. Baby, don't let me down.
Who's in?

Can't make it tonight sadly but recording it would be awesome
I swear I'll get my session up guys, I'm wondering if a guest commentator, like I've done before, would be a good idea for this one
I'm out today. Got to go to a family event.
If I'm free around that time I'll stop in for sure. Skype name is rootbeer 2000
Raise the flop?
I don't think my pair is best hand right now and I don't want to blow the others out of the pot but I have a huge amount of equity in a 4 way pot. Only problem is UTG raised could have an overpair and fairly standard player in the SB bets out into 3 people always has a pair here.

Thanks for the session today, Wes and Steve. I think it went really well after the initial technical cluster fook that is the Windows OS. ![]()
I always learn from these sessions. Today, I was a little tilted from the problems, but all is well. A couple of hands will be branded into my mind forever, which only makes me a better poker player. ![]()

I mean raising the flop can't be bad, even if you get 3-bet by the UTG player you've got monumental equity vs an overpair. The is the possibility the SB is donking out with a worse hand (55, A3, 56, 45 etc) so isolating yourself in position vs him in the long run with a hand as big as the one you have is going to be insanely profitable.
When confronted with decisions like this usually my thought process is something like:
"Ok. Am I continuing anyway? If yes does raising potentially accomplish something that calling doesn't? If yes does it accomplish it often enough, or is it "cheap" enough in the grand scheme of things that it's not going to cost me a shedlaod of money"
Here, raising can potentially isolate you in position in a big pot vs a range which is most likely not super strong and if you get 3-bet it's no biggie since you have up to 15 outs vs an overpair. The only hand you're afraid of is a set or a really raggedy 2 pair in which case you've still got 7 or so outs.
With no pair here I probably just call looking to preserve my implied odds but with a pair as well your hand becomes very strong.
