Do you mean making it easier to select a player alias in the Exclude and Include Only boxes? If so, I can work on that.

I used CamStudio for the recording, so it may not be quite up to DC standards. The audio shouldn't be that far off the video, however. When I watch it, the video is maybe 2-3 seconds behind the audio.

Ok, so it was me.

I installed the latest version of the K-Lite Codec Pack and it's fine now.

I ran into an issue while running a PF Ranges query, where I tried to look at 3b ranges for TAG-type villains (I set values for VPIP, PRF, and AF).

I have a pretty large database for the limit I chose (about 450K hands), so I expected a long wait. After about five minutes, though, I got an UNRECOVERABLE ERROR that says:

Hold'em Analytics encountered an unrecoverable error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

Then, after pressing OK to acknowledge the error, it closes HEA. Hope this is OK to post here. Thanks for any help you can give on this.

I sorted this out by uninstalling the program, then using IE (rather than my Firefox) to do the one-click install. Once I did this, the index options were there and everything went smoothly. So if anyone else has this same issue I did, you might want to go the Internet Explorer route for the install, at least.

Terrific program and the video that was made to accompany it is very well done and very informative.

Right now I can't choos alias'.

I just posted an updated build that includes autocomplete for the player aliases. After you type two characters or more, a list of 10 aliases will be shown from your HEM database. Let me know if 10 is enough.

I have a question for everyone who has tried Hold'em Analytics...

At present, the top hand strength category, 2 Pair or Better, includes hands where the board is paired:

- Top pair plus paired board
- Second pair plus paired board
- Low pair plus paired board
- Overpair plus paired board
- Pocket pair plus higher paired board
- Pocket pair plus lower paired board

After spending some time looking at the hand strength detail view, I am considering moving these hands into the TP or Pair categories because I think including them in the 2 Pair or Better category over-represents an opponent's strength since everyone has a pair on a paired board.

Does this make sense?

another Q: when creating the index, is there *any* information on what's going on in the background? a progress bar or something. how long does it take to create an index for a db of 5mil hands?

There haven't been any further updates, but I'm still working hard on the tool. The plan is to integrate it directly into HEM with the next release (1.10).

When running queries, or creating indexes, there is no progress information other than the number of queries outstanding shown on the Query button. The reason is that the PostgreSQL database engine doesn't provide any status information. Also, query times vary a lot from run to run; if you run a query twice, the 2nd execution will often take 1/10th the time.

Query performance is all about disk throughput. The faster your hard disk the better. If you have a large database, you may want to consider an SSD disk.
