i kinda like this shove. as you pointed out when people double from being short they tend to wanna play back more. and i think he is really getting sick of us abusing the hell out of the table, i easily see him 3 betting pretty light there. and also, if he is an icm aware decent player, he most likely is not going to be calling that often either imo. i think it was the prefect conditions to make this play imo.

Yeah one of the bigger things I look at in these 3 and 4-betting wars is risk/reward. I'm not going to 4-bet shove 45BBs over a 5.5x 3-bet.

obviously there being a tiny stack helps too!

What do you think villain's river check means here ? I'm not sure that the river is a bad card for us after his checks turn+river

He'll check/call A high on the flop (especially with a gutshot).

Also, bet/check/bet isn't a very credible line to a lot of people. If they think we're cbetting our whole range, they can still call with an 8 because we'd bet our flushes and kings on the turn most likely, so we are betting 2 pair, aces, and the rest of the crap we c-bet on the flop.
