Pre-ordered as well. Given actual price it can't be a mistake, I liked their previous book, but have no real expectations set for this one. I am surely open to discussions about the most interesting parts of the book.

So, how are we going to distinguish what comes over here from there? In other words, what types of discussions benefit from the larger pool of students, and what types of discussions thrive on tight knit groups of people who know each other a little and understand each others goals?

I say we just leave it up the individual, as different people are going to have different preferences. In the end, either place works as long as it generates discussion and feedback.

i'm a DC member since a few months, learned a lot from the site and now i feel time's right to become a more active member.
I pre-ordered the book today and like to join the team.
i'm a winning 20NL 6MAX player, ready to move to 50NL 6MAX,
and i love THE game

Got it pre-ordered!

A short intro. Been playing NL hold'em cash games live for 3 years during uni. Despite alot of bigs wins, paying the rent on time meant I never could build a bank roll. Working for a few months in Korea teaching now with some spare time so taking a run at online cash 6 max for the second (maybe 3rd :0) time! After a mega winning streak I thought I was doing fine and was raking in $70 an hour. ... HAHAHA! how little I knew. My bad play and tilt caught up with me and reduced my bank roll by 75%. So, pulling myself up, recommited and a DC member. Ready for new book and looking for some good convo n discussion about poker.

Heres a list of who I have so far who is interested in the group. I didn't add Matt because Im not sure how much time he is going to put into our discussion on THIS forum. He's got a book to sell on the other one!

Thats 12 players. We have a day to come up with a baller style team name to lead us into victory. Fish, could you start the new thread once we come up with a name?

I actually just sent a PM asking a mod to change the title of the thread to "Team Small Stakes No-Limit Hold'em". I figured that would be easier than starting a new thread and getting people confused.

While I am pro sweet team names, I think we would be better served to stick with a simple name that clearly states our purpose, so that anyone visiting the Secret HQ will know what we are all about. If we had a name that didn't make it clear what we were studying, I think a lot of potential members would overlook the thread.

That being said though, if the majority of people feel differently, then majority vote rules IMO.

I actually think a clever name with attract more people to check out the thread. What about something like "Fishes' Chips: SSNLHE study group"

Oh and changing the name of the thread is obv better than trying to wrangle everyone over into a different thread imo

ha, I like fun names but I take the point obout more members.

I don't think Team SSNLHE will attract to many new members though.
