(8+6)*39-(x*8)=0 I took the original equation and plugged our 6bb in and put in for x and took out 96.5 and made that x.

Can someone please tell me what the 2nd exercise is to accomplish? I can see it is used to identify which spots we have higher perceived strength and just see how we can win with that... but then it feels like I'm going to be throwing money away by folding AA/KK in EP, and then eventually running into those hands with 27o or something when I'm in LP.

Here are my objectives:

1) Your opponent cannot see you cards. You practice understanding what does my hand look like to my opponents.

2) Since you cannot valuebet but only make money bluffing, you have to play the board texture, positions and the other players. Most SSNL and MSNL players worry far far too much about their own cards. Most of the time your cards does not matter. This is NLHE nobody ever has anything.

3) When you play tennis with a smaller racket you have to focus more. You practice your table concentration.

That said... it is not easy... But you can play like this and book winning sessions at at least 100NL. If you are still learning you can wait until after you have done the exercise on page 44 a couple of times.

OK, Thanks for the explanation. I can see what you are getting at, but I'm guessing that this wouldn't work at 50NL, right? Or just try and find a table full of TAGs?

I must admit that I have never tried it at lower stakes than 100NL. Maybe I should record a video or me playing without looking at my cards at 50NL?

Question3- (8+4)*35 -(y*12)=0
where y = 35

So by betting more on the flop we can continue deeper with our stacks since we make more on the flop when he misses so we can catch bluffs. Ie the flush hits, he checks oop and we check. He bets small and we call. This is profitable because he doesn't always have the flush. So the larger the flop bet the further we can go with the hand? I think this is making sense now.

Yes, the larger the flop bet, the more room we have to error on further streets, while maintaining +EV
