Hey guys,
This month has been pretty exciting for me. I've been developing a lot of new poker-related content-- a new video series for DC, curriculum for my poker classes, and especially finishing up some final touches for my book, Easy Game: Making Sense of NLHE. To put it all together, I'd like to introduce BalugaPoker.com. This isn't a training site like DC, CR, Leggo, or anything else-- there's no subscription, no video production, nothing like that. However, I am offering something that other sites are not:
-- a structured, proven coaching method
-- a team of coaches, trained by me, to handle 1-on-1 coaching for students of all limits and bankrolls. You'll see them in the coaching tree this season. They are: TubaSteve (you know him well), Kai (Mid stakes full-ring and 6m dynamo), Jean-Michel (mid-high stakes short handed monster) and Steve Cesaro (one of the best shortstackers in the world turned full-stack turned cap game player with expertise at all limits and game types). Check out their bios at balugapoker.com
-- a series of classes taught either by me or a coach on the
balugawhale team. these classes group students of similar level and skill to learn material together. It's basically like getting great coaching with a group of friends for much less cost.
-- a series of seminar/lectures. Want to fix that one big leak?
Maybe you lose a lot of $$ in 3-bet pots? You don't necessarily need a long commitment to 1-on-1 coaching to fix that. Instead, register for the seminar on 3-betting. It's a 1-and-done seminar, and we answer your questions at the end.
The important thing about the BalugaPoker style is that everything is interactive. Whether you're getting 1-on-1 coaching, enrolling in a class, or attending a seminar, you're going to be an active part of the learning environment. That means both asking your own questions, and getting questions asked of you. The method I've developed over years of coaching is refined to the point where I feel confident that it can be applied in each of these contexts.
Lastly, I want to officially introduce my upcoming book, Easy Game: Making Sense of NLHE. I believe it will be the most complete, easiest to understand, and most in-depth book about NLHE ever compiled. Throughout my time in coaching and playing, I've found that proper terminology and structure is crucial to breaking the game down to the theory concepts that matter. This is the purpose of the book-- it's a conversational textbook. You should be able to absorb most of the information easily and quickly. A tentative Table of Contents is available at BalugaPoker.com
Given that, while I play a lot of HU NLHE, I don't consider myself a true HU expert, I picked up an excellent co-author for the book to write the HU sections. Matt "Checkmate824" Colletta, known on 2p2 forums as MatthewRyan, is both an incredible player and communicator. He has over $1M in lifetime winnings, plays HU anywhere between 10/20 and 100/200 online, and is known for his creative, aggressive play. I also got the chance to get to know Matt in Vegas this summer, and I can say firsthand that he's a great player, thinker, writer, and person. Which is why I'm so excited to have him on board. The HU section he has written is excellent.
The book is currently being edited by Anna Paradox, editor of Tommy Angelo's Elements of Poker.
I expect the book to drop towards the beginning of April.
It will be sold in four different packages:
1) Basic Package-- this gets you Volume I of the book.
2) Advanced Package-- this gets you Volume II of the book.
3) Full Package-- this gets you both Volume I and II of the book.
4) Premium Package-- this gets you both volumes, as well as access to exclusive high stakes videos from both myself and Matt. This is content you
can't get from any training site.
Prices are not completely decided yet, but will look something like this:
Basic-- 350-400
Advanced-- 750-850
Full-- 1000-1100
Premium-- 1500-1600
Once again, if you have any questions about the book, about me as a
player/coach/author, about the co-author, editor, or anything, please feel
free to post here or send an email to books@balugapoker.com
Free E-book promotions are enroute when you sign up for rakeback, and we're still working out the kinks to it.
I'll be starting an early registration list soon.
Thanks,
