should I carry on or wait for your notes first?
Imo you should always make your own notes (to summarize a concept in your own words), even when you have other notes. Only when you think you have all covered that there is to note you could look at other notes, because if you look at those notes you could say to yourself something like "oh that makes sense" and that's all.
I have already taken notes on Hellomaha, I like that series.
They're all written with pen and paper though.
I like to make notes even if I don't bother re-reading them, it just sinks in better when you write stuff down.
Would like to see the notes as well.
Please pm me,
Thanks!
hi KasinoKrime, I'd love to see the note, dunno why I never saw this thread...could you send me a pm plz? thanks =)
What's up DC Members?
Since the DC videos and community have been so helpful in the advancement of my poker game, I thought I'd help everyone else out by distributing some information that really facilitated the progression of my game.
I started playing PLO in November at the .25/.50 limits, but have since been able to improve my game and become a regular at 1/2, and have begun game selecting 2/4. I hope to be at 5/10 by the end of the summer.
Anyways, I'll cut to the point of the post. I've seen every DC PLO video, in addition to all of the videos on CR that are worth a damn (many are not, but there are several videos/series that are extremely useful, with some excellent content). Since I'm an MBA Student, I'm sort of anal about taking notes on educational topics/videos so I can reference them later when I'm running bad, doubting plays etc...
Therefore, I have a little over 22 pages of very detailed notes on each video that I've seen (single spaced, word format, 12 font), which I think would be EXTREMELY useful to many of the members who are interested in learning the basic fundamentals of PLO, while also having a good reference tool to have in your possession. Although there are many great series of videos out there right now, many of them have overlapping content, or contain pieces of strategy you can gain from reading about it, rather than watching an entire video.
I have great notes from Ms. PLO, 2x6, Mad Potters, PLOwing the Midstakes, PLO, Stinger's 2/4 series, Brian Townsend, Lefty, Wazz, and many more. In addition to the notes on videos, I have some random strategy notes from players that I have either read on blogs, 2+2, or in the CR forum. Think of the notes as a written compilation of the best PLO videos between the two sites. Overall, I think it's an extremely useful reference for any PLO player looking to improve their game, without taking the time to watch all of these videos on their own (probably 80 hours or so I would guess).
I'm only going to give this out to DC members (I'm actually not a member with CR, just bum a membership from a friend so I can view the videos), so if you're interested, just PM me or post here. I'm not asking for anything in return, I just wanted to give something back to the members. I think it's sort of pointless to have this great reference tool all to myself, when I know it could really help a lot of players improve their games. It has definitely been very useful for me, and I often refer to my notes before I play a session to get in the correct mindset to play well.
Anyways, let me know if anyone is interested.
Run Well,
John
