A question about the KJ hand where you took him to value town out of position on 3 streets on a 3 heart board. Is your river bet size (almost pot, as opposed to overbet shove) a slight tell? Meaning that he could eliminate most flushes from your range, opening up his possible turning his 3rd pair into a bluff? I guess you might size it the same way if you wanted to make sure he calls with his marginal holding, but I wasn't sure if that would ever happen, and if it would be a good idea in the first place.

Thanks,

Dean.

i don't think it's a tell because i dont think he has reason to believe we'd play a flush differently. sure an overbet ship would allow us to not be bluffed, but it probably greatly reduces his river calling range...

like you said, his hand is pretty face up as something marginal. him turning his hand into a bluff would be a very advanced play, and not something that i'd give a lot of people credit for doing...at least not after a half hour of playing or whatever.

If you do bet the turn on the right when the kh comes on 764Khhh and villain raises you what do you do? If you have a read on your opponent about how he plays that will obviously play a huge roll in your decision.

However what is the default play? call the raise and c/fold the river? Or is it more of the "don't fold top pair until you have a reason to?" This is something that is tricky for me in a vacuum. So what do you think as far as starting out a match being cautious or the opposite?
