villain in the hand is a fish who doesn't realize he's a fish. the game is running four handed and he has made multiple comments about not being able to see "cheap flops" and this game "playing like 50/100" (he was the new guy sitting with 100bb, teh rest of us were like 500bb deep, it's a 200bb max buyin game). I have won like 4 of 5 pots vs this guy generally him calling a raise oop and c/f'ing flop.
sb (me) vs bb (fish) and I have 77.
I make it 60 pre he calls. Flop Js Jd 3s.
Hero Bets 100, Fish raises to 200, Hero Calls.
Board: [Js Jd 3s 6h]
Hero checks, Fish bets 200, Hero Calls
Board: [Js Jd 3s 6h 3h]
Hero bets $300 intending to call a shove. (villain would have about 1k behind after the 300)
Berate away.

I actually like it. I think if you lose, it's because he flat calls a 3 on the river. If he shoves, I don't think he has ace high or a 3, so he must have no showdown value at all. And with a J he would have been betting/raising bigger. He probably has a missed flush draw if he shoves and he probably has ace high if he calls. Looks good to me.

Wow, I hate this. I don't think you are giving up much at all just folding to the flop minraise but people in live games often take a line like that w/ a 3 or ppair for some pot control and "to find out where they're at" so I'd probably call his flop minraise and c/f to his turn bet. Your description makes him seem like the type of guy who just constantly whines about not hitting flops or getting good hands but is in reality just a huge nit.

Well, if he has the 3 he probably just flats like TWP says. I guess he could have 88 or 99 or something and flat as well.
Aren't you kind of putting him on a narrow range? We were deep so I'm doubting he would minraise anything but a premium J if even that given the FD on the board.

I dont like it since I think theres a good chance he has the jack and you end up donkin off your stack when he shoves river.
I think check-call is better on the river. Especially since with the way he is betting he'll give you a really good price.
Overall I think its a little too fancy.

if anybody is gonna minraise flop and bet turn so small with a J, its a dude like this in a live game imo. I'd probably call turn slow, check river fast and see what he does/get a read on him to decide whether to call or fold.

live games might play differently...but online fish tend to take this line with any pair, any Ahigh and FLDs. generally they give up on the river if they dont improve. id gladly call flop and turn and prob c-f river unless his bet size reveals something that makes me change my mind.
a river lead is interesting but since it doesnt seem like hes a maniac i dont think a bet-call is gonna be profitable readless. if i were to lead it would be bc i thought he would play his hand face up and i would basically be setting the price for showdown and fold to a raise.
online, fish give up a lot on the river so i would never lead the river but like i said, ur games might be different.
