I think most DC coaches have been, or are coached, by other DC coaches. For example:
Krantz > Insyder
Sthief > Improva
Improva > Grindcore
Mdm13 > me
Tubasteve > TheLoon
Tubasteve > ybother
Entity > Pygmyhero
And that's just what I know for memory.

I know Jay coached WoT and Baluga coached Tubasteve, but who else has been coached by other DC coaches? I say jk3a leaving a comment on one of terps videos which made me wonder if they had worked together or coached one another or anything like that.
Also, if you guys could only ever speak to one other member of the DC coaching team about poker who would it be?
I coached n0whereman a bit back in the day, I'd like to think I helped turn his donkey ass into a beautiful butterfly :-)
To your second q, whitelime. When he and I are talking a lot of poker, no force in the verse can stop us

To all the coaches.
What is the biggest ah-ha moment you have ever had while being coached? What is the best advice you have ever recieved from a coash?
If you could be coached by anyone in the world right now, what would you be coached at? and who would do the coaching?
If Forrest Gump coached Mike Tyson at Ping Pong, how long would it take him to win wimbledon?

Jay was just as wise back then as he is now, although the crazy seems to have kicked up a notch or two. And I am a beautiful butterfly.

DJsensei has coached me 6m
meanwhile, im getting plo coaching from n0whereman and HU coaching from jk3a.
I just feel like, I need to continue improving as a player so i can stay ahead of the curve to provide my students the best, newest information when I coach.

Do you feel there is a 'minimum' level of knowledge/experience a player requires (Other than actually knowing how to play to a basic standard) before they can benefit from coaching?
I ask because in other activities that can be coached, getting a coach in as early as possible is often far more beneficial. It takes much longer to break bad habits than it does to create them (As I found out over a nasty two month period after playing guitar for 3 years)

Krantz - Once you realised that Firefly/Serenity was the most incredible show of all time, did you automatically enjoy Castle more as well, or was that just me?
All - have you ever stopped coaching someone a) because you believed they had outgrown your capabilities or b) because you could not connect with the student in a way that helped them get better (i.e. no matter how you explained it they didn't/couldn't understand)?

I've stopped coaching a few students as I've felt I've taught them enough that they weren't getting their money's worth out of the sessions anymore. Also, they were moving up to 400/600 and knew they would learn much more from a better coach.
As far as DC coaches, I was coached by Jsnipes. Fortunately he turned me into a good poker player.
Also, while i could probably increase my rates I like to stay affordable for the small stakes guys. Also, I'd feel much more pressure for the first few coaching sessions at an increased rate.

I've done a and b on multiple occasions. I enjoy doing A, since it means both that I've done my job well and the student has improved a bunch. TBH it's one of the best things I could tell one of my students: "sorry, but I can teach you no more. Move up and win monies!"

Yes, in my mind I think of this as 'graduating' a student and I have been VERY happy every time it occurred.

Can you guys give an update on the new "rate your coach" initiative? I think it's awesome that you guys were proactive after scandals elsewhere.
We have and continue to receive a lot of data, so far we have been using it to let the coaches know where we're rating really well and where we can improve. The quality of coaching here continues to get better and better, and this feedback mechanism is proving to be pretty useful!

And I feel that many coaches (and I'm sorry if that's not the case) almost only coach because it's easy money (yes, with not much dedication plus a high hourly rate and no-variance) and charge whay too much.
1. Coaches are actually winning more by playing poker rather than coaching overall
2. Learning invaluable information and plugging your leaks are priceless. Think about the return on investment instead.
Have you ever saw I coach reduce his rates?
Yes. They do it very often at DC offering a package. See Tuba and Ybother offers in the coaching session of the forum
