I tried a bunch of different resistance bands and ended up hating, breaking or outgrowing most of them. My advice is to just get a set of dumbbells if you can, and +1 on bodybuilding.com

I broke one of my resistance bands too. Tried a cheap set of dumbells, but the pain of unscrewing them to change the weights just got too hard and slow, particularly in a couple of the work-outs . Bought some Bowflex Adjustables, and absolutely love them.

Been wanting to do this for a while....I am not in the greatest shape. I think I am just chicken shit.
How bad is the first couple weeks? And I can only do 3 or maybe 4 chin ups probably less pull ups.....Should I bother trying this or go with something a little easier to start?

That is the fitness test... I couldn't even do a pull-up before I started P90X the first time. I could do everything else though.

I bought the Bowflex SelecTech 1090s : http://www.bowflexselecttech.com/bst_microsite/products/1090dumbbells/prdcdovr~710000/Bowflex+SelectTech+1090+Dumbbells.jsp

I bought them on Amazon though because the Bowflex website wanted to charge me $150 for shipping and Amazon had free shipping.

I also bought the stand : http://www.bowflexselecttech.com/bst_microsite/accessories/2in1stand/prdcdovr~700005/Bowflex+SelectTech+2in1+Stand.jsp

How many could you do when you finished the first time? How long are the video's/workouts? And thanks for the reply with the link.

I do P90X off and on, but travel and other stressors in life fck up the routine and you get into one with this program. The program usually take 1.5 hrs each day, but even cutting it in half is great on the body. I tend to only find the time to actually half ass these workouts and the rest are pretty good.

I could do like 9-12+, it's amazing how much easier they are when you are 35 lbs lighter and gain muscle. Same with doing push-ups.

It is 1 hr 6 days a week, except for the yoga, the yoga is 1 day a week and 1.5 hours.

Just finished day 2, plyos ftmfw.

Set aside 1.5 hours each day for it. By the time you get set up and going it's an hour and a half.

Once you get into a routine and get fitter (and stop taking so many breaks) you will find that the time comes down closer to the hour. Also - I suggest doing the ab-ripper at a different time than the other strength workout (eg chest/back in morn, ab ripper in evening). I find that I am so absolutely fucked after the one hour I can't think of doing another 15 mins!

It really is quite amazing how much better at pull-ups you get. I could do maybe 4 or 5 before I started. Now can bang out 15 (I am mid way through week 10 atm). Hope to be able to do 20 by the end of the 90 days, although that may be pushing it I suspect

Just finished Day 3, Shoulders and Arms w/ Ab ripper X. It's much much better doing it in the morning after I wake up. It's done then!

I like to do AbRipper before the lifting because I hate ab workouts. I can never get motivated to do it.

Hey guys. I've seen this thread around here before and have glimpsed at it from time to time but have read through the entire thing since I am going to begin the Insanity workout tomorrow morning and try to make it a daily routine. However I am looking through this nutrition guide and it is going to kind of suck because it seems like there is a lot of cooking. I love to cook but really don't have much time because of my day job and its odd hours (Right now I start at 2 PM and get off work at 10:30 PM with about a 30 minute commute there and back). Also, I work at the airport so there is an abundant amount of fast food here so bringing a lunch with me is vital.

I've got a plan already in mind and am going to try it out tomorrow. But I am wanting to hear if anyone else has any short comings with this or any helpful tips to make things easier.

Like working out, dieting is all about getting into a routine. I am doing p90x and find the diet portion of the program the hardest. I suggest easing into the diet or else you will go crazy and partake in a fast food binge. This is a fat burning diet so you don't get to eat alot of your favorites (like carbs) As you get more accustom to the diet, you will begin to lose the cravings for fast food.

Like I said before, develop a routine. I personally make enough meals to last me a few days and I do it right after my workout. I find this is the best time for me because I am still focusing in on my body and health. At that moment I am motivated to make healthy food for myself.
