99% of law school students are douchebags. 1% i can chill with. (currently taking break from law school-1 yr to go)
I'd like to hope I'm in the 2nd category. Especially given that I gave up law for poker after graduating. Good luck on that last year if you decide to go back
Sorry for the mini thread hijack.

Couple of questions.
First, do you and whitelime have separate beds or do you just do one king-size, Bert and Ernie-style? If the second, which one of you is Bert and which is Ernie?
Second, what is your biggest obstacle at the table mentally? I'm not talking about dealing with aggression or anything like that, but more of the intangible stuff like tilt, fatigue, dealing with beats, etc.
Thanks man.
I'm Bert.
Biggest obstacle at the table mentally speaking is tolerating all the retards.

Krantz, i'm 3betting and getting 4bet a lot. Sometimes I actually (wow) have a hand when i 3bet and they 4bet bluff 56ss, i shove KK and they call.
My question is, how do you know when to 5bet bluff ai or make some shove with AT or something. In your video you say you've lost a ton of money 5bet bluffing...should we stay away from doing this, or is there big metagame we're missing here...
stay awayyyyyyyyy!

to go one step further, one of the benefits of getting caught 5-bet bluffing is that in the future, that player won't ever dare bluff you because you look batshit crazy

I noticed you never mentioned cold calling to 3-bet. Is this an option both in and out of position or is this a 4-bet or fold spot. And if you do cold call and get a 9 high board, is it standard to get it all in?
When i 3-bet i use the same sizing as you but my 4-bet is slightly larger(30-33%).
When you saw Namco 3-bet to 140 and call whitelime's 4-bet in position with AQo for 160 more you seemed to be implying that he was calling lightly. If I invest 140 preflop in position and face a reraise of only 160 more I might be tempted to call with worse hands. Is this a mistake? I understand that this bet sizing allows you to 4-bet bluff often and get action with your big pairs but it seems to me that if oop you will be getting called more often than getting folds. What is the game plan on the flop if oop and getting called (assuming AQo). What type of boards will you c-bet and what is size of c-bet. What type of boards will you check fold?
Thanks
It's not a mistake if you can outplay him postflop - but keep in mind that's usually really tough because the pot is super huge and it will be very difficult to do so. So don't tempt yourself to call just because it's a small reraise without thinking about his range and how you will proceed postflop.
With AQ OOP in a 4-bet pot it's completely player dependent - I think the most useful advice I can give you on c-betting is to take certain board textures (dry ones, like 752, wet ones, like 9TJ two-tone) and play around with ranges in pokerstove and look at your equity when called. Then think about how your opponent will react to your bet (and bet size) with different parts of his range (or your check) and act accordingly.
Hope that helps.

Ak is a pretty standard all in preflop on 5/10+. But i can't help but second guess myself when i run into aces. Should I just brush it off as running bad or are there spots where ak is foldable preflop?(assuming 100bb stack)For example i raise ak utg to 35 and get 3-bet to 125 by the big blind, I 4-bet 290 and he shoves. I call every time except vs the tightest of players but seem to run into aa or kk pretty often these days. The big blind isn't gonna 3-bet a utg raiser often and when he shoves I can only be vs jj+ or ak none of which ak is a favorite against. Im thinking of cc the 3-bet and getting it in if i hit the flop. Is this a better play or do you think 4 betting and calling shove is better?
Thanks

4-betting is usually better the way the games run these days... just make sure you're correctly gauging the range your opponents are 3-betting you with.

I just signed up for some coaching information and put you down as a the requested coach. How many students do you take on at any given time? Whats the longest you have coached someone? Success stories? Failure stories? You talked about being a good coach earlier, and how excited you were to meet with tommy and expand your teaching skill/knowledge, but I was wondering what you think makes a good student?

Krantz, how do you adjust your 3betting range against someone who plays 40-60bb stacks. I know you like to relentlessly pound ip with 3b, but do you still do this against these guys? Or do you tighten up and only wait for a good hand to 3bet...

also, i'm not sure if you'd be interested, but i have this fun mockumentary series i do about the life of a professional internet poker player and it's been pretty popular in the poker forums, if you'd ever like to do a fun cameo, it'd be really hilarious. it'd be pretty good publicity for deuces cracked too. the first vid in the series has close to 25k views (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xr9hgQBGsfs)
if you're too busy, that's cool and i could mention this site anyway if you think it would help at all.
