What do you make of the Memoirs of AeJones being 5k so?
Also totally retarded.
To add some clarification: I'm sure he can offer value insight, but in 2008 there are so many great alternatives that are way way cheaper. If he would have offered this information in the pre training site age the price would have been somewhat more reasonable.

How much of it is written by Cole? By written I mean his original work, not editing/revisions of SlowHabit's first version.
This will be interesting to see what he answers here as I have heard the same % for what Cole actually wrote from several different people.

Jedi Penguin,
Besides adding additional thoughts [which I know I would never come up on my own] on previous chapters, Cole adds about 30 pages of insight.

Yeah but his selling point for it, I suppose, is that he discusses concepts and things that they purposely DON'T discuss in training videos, that are mainly kept for 1 on 1 coaching but hes apparently compiled it into a nice series.
I can't believe people will buy this, or AEJONES memoirs.. unless they are loaded
Well it's said that the info will help everyone up to 10/20, so for people playing 2/4, 3/6 etc 1.8k isn't a huge amount really.
With that being said, I'd rather spend the 1.8k on 1 on 1 coaching with Tri than buy the book, as I heard his coaching is absolutely excellent.

I find it hard to believe that this book is so exceptionally good that it's worth 1800$. I would be really suprised to see stuff in there that hasn't previously been covered in a book or some vid on cr/dc/something else.
Prepare to get surprised.

Mrrpb,
Thanks for the kind words!
One thing I know for sure. It is impossible for me to teach a student the book's content in 5 hours. The best solution for a person who plays 1/2nl-3/6nl is to buy the book, digest it, and get two hours of coaching with me. Unfortunately, I'm really busy right now and cannot accept new students

As we improve as players, we have several 'aha' moments where all pieces of previously acquired information just click and we start crushing. Then after a while, we stop crushing and need new 'aha' moments to continue crushing. This is what the book will do to your game, especially if you play 1/2nl-3/6nl. I coach these stakes and had a few 'aha' moments myself reading Cole's thought process on how to crush them haha.
It's also understandable to be skeptical as it's never easy to spend a large amount of money on an item, let alone a book. I don't think I have told a person to buy the book if they ask me whether or not they should buy it. The reason is I don't want to be responsible for what they do with their moneys. Having said that, I do think this is the best poker education a small/mid-stakes player can acquire.
One important factor that people might overlook when they said they can use the money for 1-on-1 coaching is the quality of the coach. In any occupations, there are the best, the mediocre, and the worst. With coaching, you never know since people who have pretty graphs tend to think they can coach with the same efficiency. There are also occasions where your personality might not match with the great coach's personality. With our book, you'll know for sure the content is top-notch and is what Cole and I would teach our students.

I don't play much NL but I have to admit that this book is pretty intriguing to me. If I played more I'd probably consider picking up a copy.
Welcome to the forums Tri.
Rob
Thanks Rob!
That's the first time someone welcomes me to the forum and I must admit, it feels great

The problem with a book is how people go about learning the content. Obviously many of those who would buy it are no doubt capable, smart individuals. However, one of the benefits of 1-1 coaching is that the coach can explain when the student is misapplying the discussed theory. A book can't discuss anything, it can only tell you. Of course, SlowHabit has more or less addresed these issues in his above posts. If I were regularly playing 10/20 I may consider it a valuable purchase, especially given the quality behind the production (when I say "I" here I mean the everyman, not myself in particular). I don't think it's going to be a waste of money, compared to say paying $5k for a different publication.

inavacuum,
That's fair.
That's why we have a forum where readers can come in and ask questions/create discussions in case we didn't soul read our readers while writing the book.
