Hey guys, So as you can probably guess by the title I had a good day today, and I though it warranted an extra post. I got second in a 3714 person $5 Turbo KO today for $2,133! We made a deal when we were HU, so I got the majority of the cash. I got to say I feel pretty good right now. First day back on the full time grind and having this result just motivates me to grind so m ... (continued)
Hey guys, So as some of you might remember from centuries ago I decided to take a week off from poker. That stretched out to be a little bit of a longer break then I had anticipated. Regardless I’m back and feel refreshed and ready to grind my way back up to where I was at my peak this fall. I played short sessions on thursday and friday this week that resulted in a small win, and ... (continued)
For those of you that have been following my blog or checking in, you might know that at the beginning of the blog I was playing 10NL. Well playing is one term, more like losing and playing badly is the more realistic version. I finally checked my poker ego at the door and moved down to 2NL. Which was the best thing I have ever done for my game. Grinding 2NL for a good s ... (continued)
So was at a party last night, and woke up pretty hungover. Decided to play some 10NL, my regular stake, to try to earn some moneeeey. And guess what, I ran like the God of Poker and my weird play worked out! I flopped so many sets and got the most value out of every hand! So I played pretty much optimally. Example of how taking weird lines works out on regulars: Full Tilt Poker $10.00 No Limit H ... (continued)
So thought I would write down some thoughts about playing 2NL for a month. I more or less doubled my roll in a month playing 2NL. Which I feel is a massive achievement. I think it a really difficult limit to play, due mainly to the size of the player pool. So many players means your more or less playing readless poker most of the time or at the very least trying to form ... (continued)
I have had a really good winning weekend and winning week at 2NL. Feels good. I have learnt a load from playing it more or less exclusively all month. I played a few session of 5NL this weekend and got unlucky in a few pots, but did not tilt and managed to get out of the hole. I cannot stress enough to any uNL players that are struggling to check your ego drop down a level that yo ... (continued)
Feel as if I have learnt a ton this past week about 2NL but more importantly about poker and how to play it effectively! I have fixed a lot of leaks and I feel as if my play has improved. I will post my thoughts on what I have improved on next week, when I have played the coming week and hopefully re-affirmed what I have learnt! On the whole I am really happy with this week ... (continued)
$1. That is exactly what I won. And that is the operative word. WON! I had my first winning session at 2NL all week by playing poker. Not by gambling or tilting and getting lucky but by playing good solid poker! Thanks to everyone that has followed by blog and left comments and helped the last couple of days. As you can see I started off badly. And this is because of 2 things: ... (continued)
It’s been about a year since I started playing poker. In the first six months, I was a total donk and just burning money. In the second half, I finally started readying good books and started training online. After being in loss bracket for so long, it’s nice to finally be in the black!
