This month started out really great, and I quickly hit +100 buyins for the year. But it turned back as fast as it came, so now I’m grinding myself even after a early downswing for the fifth month in a row: I’m pretty happy, that I was able to put in the volume I have, no matter how I ran – showing i’m less results oriented than I used to be. I’m re watching EPT ... (continued)
I don’t remember if I posted this or not. I took these notes from the PLO Quickpro program KasinoKrime made. It really has a lot of good information. Don’t believe me? I was playing on Carbon at 10/25 and ran into this player and we kind of got into a cock measuring contest and challenged each other to HU. Well, we ended up skyping and apparently he took 4th in the 10K horse WCOOP a few year ... (continued)
Just a quicky, (music of the hour) I’ve been running pretty bad lately – i’m not complaining just stating the facts! :) Been playing overall very good, but have ofc. some spots I can adjust. Been putting in a nice volume this month, I will post a graph in the next couple of days. Had hoped for a +100 buyins, but that’s seems kinda hard to achieve atm. ... (continued)
Until now 2012 has been a VERY swingy year. Started out depositing 500 dollars on pokerstars. Had some good days until I met this big tour player. He was bragging about his recen’t win in the chat, and PTR had him down -40k at different stakes – he was loosing at them all. He was playing some pretty leaky ABC poker against me on two tables, but ended up crushing me at every showdown. The last couple of months has been really tough results wise. I did put a lot of volume in the study, and also made a decent number of hands each month. But I still ended up only breaking even with rakeback. Compared to the swings I went through, and the effort I had put into it, it didn’t feel satisfying… The beginning of 2012 was tough aswell. So I’ve played my first 25/50/100 plo game, took a 5k shot in a 25/50 game that was amazing then the stakes got upped some time after I sat. YoYo, I know I haven’t made as many updates, as I wanted. But i’m really trying to increase that from now on. October results: I haven’t been putting in enough time away from the table. I do run pretty shitty right now but I feel I play OK and that what matters… The hands from around a month of play (PLO10 and PLO30) BTW, why the fuck I need to have a downswing every single time I try to move up? Guess, at which place in a graph I moved to PLO30? :D It is almost funny but it happened every time I tried to move up in stakes during my poker carrier. I am sure it is not because of amount of money on a table because I already played NL100. NL50 was my main game for a long time.
It is a long time I did not write to this blog. The main reason was that I had a big downswing. One of the biggest so far I would say. It started than I took a shot at PLO50. It went bad… I moved down to PLO25 and it continue to be bad… and finally I started to play some PLO10 even to get some confidence back but I could not win a hand. I arrived in Vegas around noon, semi-planning to play the 2500 6MNL event today, but decided I’d be better off just relaxing, playing some cash games, and preparing to crush the 2500 PLO event tomorrow. So, I did just that. After a large lunch with Tom (tecmo) and his special lady at the Rio’s world buffet, I headed to the Rio’s poker room to play some cash games. It is astoundingly simple. Obvious, you might say: Fellas, PLo is not a game where you insta stack of [sic] any wrap or flush draw, understand that the only big draws in the game that are worth stacking off to on the flop 100bb deep is [sic] the following: set + flush draw 17card warp + flush draw Really those are the only huge edges you have against your opponents entire range (speaking of single raised pots here). Credit goes to deuces_wild in this thread .
Actually the title here is a bit misleading. I think PLO is incredibly dificult, especially for LHE players, but it sure is fun when you run good. I’ve been playing a bit of 7game since FTP changed the structure.
