Hi all, with the beginnings of regulated online poker in NV, I’m thinking its only a matter of time before we all have access. I’ve been playing mostly live for the past couple of years since Black Friday, but lets face it, the online game is much tougher. I would like to start sharpening my game again. I’ve sort of given up on playing online over the past year. The games just don’t seem very profita ... (continued)
… still doesnt work. If you think I’m a liar, you’re totally wrong, sonsabitches. But the purpose of this post is way more important. I wanted to bring your attention to the fact that my post count has now reached the number 999! proof: Now I dont plead for a minute of silence to remember the glorious Ducati 999, because the 916 is better in my humongous opinion. Anyway, since I have 999 posts I am onl ... (continued)
So I guess I should begin by telling whoever takes the time to actually read this a little about myself. I’m 33 years old, married, and the father of four amazing children. I have a good job that pays well, so poker has been more of a hobby and supplemental income for me. I don’t care too much for tournament poker, but love live cash games. I played pretty seriously in various home games/underground casin ... (continued)
I’m working on something that’s going to be beneficial to players of all skill levels but especially for beginners and intermediate players. What I’d like to know from all ya’ll beginners out there (both live and online) is what topics you find the most daunting? What troubles you the most? I could obviously think about what I think the biggest leaks/issues beginners have are but I’d like ... (continued)
So I’ve been casually making my way through some volume and I’m running hotter than the sun atm so figured now would be a good time to make a post. Had a few issues settling into online poker but now it’s coming together OK… I started out (over 1700 hands) as a 38/32/10 with a WTSD% of 30.9 and W$SD% of 35.7 and i was stuck -$62.95 at 10NL. Over the last 3000 hands my stats are 25/22/8 WTSD% 28 and W$SD%46.1 ... (continued)
… you think you’re going to be awesome at it until you try it out. In case you didn’t know, live poker is really easy for anyone with a brain. Having a brain, poker seemed like a good idea 4 years ago. Still playing regularly I decided to quit the wiffle stakes of live poker to try to learn the harder version… and it’s killing my life. Adjusting to these nitty uNL players is turning out to be a lot harder than I thou ... (continued)
Day nine, only +30 from starting due to downswing but feeling great. I have made a couple of adjustments that I think will mean that I destroy these games, the results aren’t there yet by I have EV bucks up the ying yang. Where good play goes good results will follow. Probably won’t be able to play to much for the next week but I’ll hopefully get the hands in. Blog saver: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/0ff85dd3c8/between-two-ferns-with-zach-galifianakis
2011 has been a great year in poker for me so far. The fact that I had tilted away a lot of money away at FTP, meant that it was a rebuilding period again at FTP, so I dropped down to 1/2 and just grinded. It has been going phenomenal and I’m back at 2/4 thanks to the Ironman Year End bonus that brought me back to 2/4 bankroll easily, so I’ll be slowly transitioning to that during this week. As the other producers ... (continued)
Because I can beat bigger games live I have felt rushed to grind up a roll online so I can play for decent money. This feeling has lead to be playing way too many hands at the same time, this has caused me to play badly and tilt and lose money. Therefore instead of rushing to reach a hand goal and certain bankroll quickly I am just going to take it as it comes. My new goal us to just play as well as I can and maximise my lon ... (continued)
It seems there is a pattern beginning to form. I lost ~$20 dollars online, but won £200 live. The thing about my live game is I feel like I know exactly what everyone is thinking because I can look at them and gauge what they are doing, also the more money at stake means I probably play better. I have been thinking about moving up online so the money means more to me but that is most likely a recipe for disaster. I am at school ... (continued)
