Here are some hands I wrote up for the Cardplayer article Final Table Takedown. These were some of my more interesting hand from the final 2 and final tables of the tournament. Hand 1: A5s is so pretty, how could you fold? So right now there are 12 people left in the tournament and both ta... Read More
So I didn’t get to put a whole lot of volume in, but ran VERY hot last week. I played 28 sit n goes and am up 9 BI. I also played 6 MTTs and took a first and a 2nd. I had limited opportunities to play because of other obligations, but I’ve been playing sit n goes after work and then MTTs on the weekends. That seems to work well for my schedule and keeps things fresh for me. I find myself looking forward to it every da ... (continued)
finally got a roll together and got HM2 and deposited on Titan and been playing alot, down a little overall happy with my game, got classed a eagle on HM which is a big confindence boost. $5+1 jackpots are my game, lost a lot to 5.50 freezouts (which are usually a god profit for me) so sticking to the plan of playing non stop sit n go’s 4 tables.
I tried some cash games online before on and off over some time, but didn’t want to/didn’t have the spare funds for coaching and didn’t work on my game. Now I have seen the series on bankroll building I hope to use 45man games as an intro to MTTs and also a way to build a BR and funds for coaching. I quite like the excitement of MTTs but not the huge field games where only the final table is interesting. I like the 500 or ... (continued)
Well, back to poker after a 2 year break for various personal reasons. Heard a blog is a good way to keep motivated to actually work on the game and keep at it. Plan to get started: Watch Real Life 180 Grinder Watch Top 0.56% Learn from OMGClayDol Grind 180s Work on building tables back up, starting with 2 and going from there. Aim by the end of May: No Volume Target No Profit Target Basically only target is to get through the vid ... (continued)
Hey, I’m a student/poker player who studies in London and grew up there. I’ve been playing poker for about 3 years or so and play as jesuswasajew on stars. My background in poker has been varied; starting with idiocy/degeneracy as an underage player messing around with affordable losses – to a constant series of ‘reformations’ that led to me getting staked by a very well known staking group in the UK. I started unive ... (continued)
A couple hands of sngs Early stage play I play extremely nitty out of position but tend to open up a bit more on the button and might call a min or 3x raise at 10/20 with hands that are double suited or make the wheel a fair amount. This is in addition to the standard value hands were peeling with, like our a2xx, a3xx combos (perferably with the ace suited and other support like another wheel card. Hands like a6tj I w ... (continued)

It’s a hard thing to come by in this ridiculous game. So often we do the right thing only to be rewarded with a cooler or a suck out. The minor success I had today I will attribute to waking up on time, getting in the tournaments I wanted to get into, and playing fairly aware because I got a decent night of sleep for once. Of course if I were to actually do a statistical regression analysis of hours of sleep vs daily winnin ... (continued)
Playing awfully + unable to catch cards = -$480. A million tournaments run on Sunday that everyone loves to play because all the prize pools are bloated by dead money from the weekend warriors. Rather than tearing through these, I think I like to play down to my level of competition. You wanna limp? Sure, let’s limp. Wow you’re only min donk betting into a 3 way hand that was raised pre-flop? Guess I have to call. You know, crap like ... (continued)
Let me start off by saying this isn’t for you, it’s for me. Should you happen to learn something or be entertained then that’s great and all, but this is a purely selfish endeavor. For someone who calls himself a grinder, I completely lack discipline. I mean I put in a few hours a day and have been doing pretty well at it and all, but there are some things I could do, obvious things, that would step up my game and pr ... (continued)
