Took me a long time (and a lot of money) to learn to play O8 well. At first I thought it was complicated. It isn’t, it’s easy. Stick to playing strong hands that play well in both directions and you will dominate. Now, I used to also think that it was higher variance when I thoug... Read More
I’ve been playing and coaching a bit of Heads Up poker and came to a conclusion. My “corn maze” theory of HUHU Poker. You want to be the guy in the lead. You opponent chasing you. But you don’t want to ‘lose’ him. You want to keep your eye on them. You w... Read More
Put yourself in position to win. Recently a new friend and I were talking. He was a bit frustrated with poker. After talking about what’s been going on, I realized that he had no pre-session routine. Well when you play poker you do the same thing. You sit, you read your cards, you wai... Read More
I have never suffered a single bad beat in poker. How could that be, you ask? Well, it's quite simple, really; I don't recognize bad beats as 'bad'. To me, bad beats are a good thing and I celebrate that mathematical underdog who brings me one. Bad beats are def... Read More
Here is part 1 of my Vegas 2011 Trip Report. Tons of videos are included, including 3 from the DC Dodgeball game and 1 from the DC Home Game! http://tecmopoker.com/2011/07/18/vegas-2011-trip-report-part-1/

Sadly, we only have hand-histories to go over. It wasn’t easy picking a time to play, as everyone is on a different schedule. Eventually we picked 6pm. Well, that was 18h00 for me, anyway. It was 19h00 across Europe, 13h00 on the East Coast, 10h00 on the Wes ... (continued)
I know what you’re asking yourself after reading the first 2 trip reports (if anybody actually did read them haha). Did Tecmo actually play any poker while in Vegas? Yes, in fact, I did. Here’s me (black hoodie, white earphone hanging down) rockin it at the 2/5 NLHE tables at the Rio. You can’t see him, but 2fouroffsuit is sitting at the very next table and he can vouch for me :) (Also a very cool dude.) I plann ... (continued)
So after we get some sleep, we wake up Thursday and hit up Pokernews/Cardplayer to see what’s going on down at the Wasop. Turns out Phil Ivey is going to be at the final table of the 2-7 Lowball event. I post on DC saying that I’ll be sweating if anyone wants to stop by. We grab a bite and head off. By the time we get there (about 30 min after the final table started) somehow 4 of the 7 players have been eliminated. ... (continued)
