It’s definitely interesting reading this blog from almost 2 years ago. I’ve come quite a ways since then. The poker world has changed quite a bit, and I live in a country I never thought I was going to live in. Well since I last checked in, several things happened. I moved to San Diego in May of 2010. Drove everything I owned in my Impala, crossed the California border, and settled down. Why you as ... (continued)
I’ve been trying to convince myself to start writing a blog for a while now, but I’ve managed to put it off for the last few weeks. I woke up this morning and had a list of things I had to get done… so far I’m making some progress. In case you haven’t figured out yet, there was no kidnapping. If you’ve read this far… well I’m surprised to say the least. I thought most of you would have re ... (continued)
Before Black Friday I was grinding 200NL Full Ring Rush poker. As a European I’m not directly affected by recent events but 200NL Rush poker sort of disappeared together with the US players… I’ve been playing 100NL regular cash games lately (multi-tabling a mix of 6max and full ring tables) on Full Tilt. Dude, those games are soft and sweet! Of course, it sucks big time for all US pla ... (continued)
Online poker in the U.S. has taken a huge blow and the ramifications across the industry are still to be determined, but needless to say there will be many changes. Many are distraught to the point of drinking, whining, going crazy, and yes, even thinking of playing live poker. I don’t blame any of them. I would, however, like to offer a different perspective. The old adage is th ... (continued)
Hey, I’m kind of bored so I figured I’d share my thoughts on these things. Many, unlike me, seem to like these multi-entry tournaments. I’ll try to give you an brief overview on why and how these affect our ROI-s. Keep in mind that I don’t play MTT-s and know quite little about them and players who play them. I’m sure My logic is flawed in spots because of this and because I o ... (continued)
Recently, I’ve been incurring some online troubles. I mostly two tabling on .1 and 2. cent 6max tables on Full Tilt. For the past few days, I’m experienced some brutal bad beats. Most of the players I encounter are very loose and passive, so I assume the most profitable tactic against them is to simply play a tight range of hand pre-flop and value bet them to the ground when flopping a big band. hi there and welcome to my new blog. i thought i would start it with a little intro about myself just so you guys know what you’ve let yourselves in for. im 27 and live in North West London, UK and have been playing poker for 6 years, although only seriously for the past 3. i play both online and live. i vastly prefer playing live as i feel it suits my game better, but online is more widely available and c ... (continued)
Sick couple of weeks! Mid June Stars changed their rake structure to remove the floor for raked pots. They had a policy of not raking pots < $1 which is ideal for the microstakes player, as most of the money comes from dragging in the insane amount of dead money at these levels. (Villains are loose preflop, fit or fold post flop) The only reason I was playing Stars at all was to benefit ... (continued)
July Goals: 1) Dedicate at least 2 hours per week to watching videos and game study. 2) Play 250 MTT’s 3) Attain 99% OPR 4) Bronze Level Iron Man on Full Tilt Another thing I have started doing is selling a piece of my action to reduce variance and allow me to play some higher buy-ins. I know the Deuces Cracked community is not into staking. So if any one else is interested in doing this themselves you should check out ChipMeUP.com Or feel free to PM me with any questions.
Figured I would start off June by checking off one of my goals as I type this: June Goals: Create a Blog….check.
