It doesn’t seem like the space bar is working on this website. Anyways, I’m wondering if a pre and post session review is too much. My blog will be there all the time and may annoy people. I’ll try it and see what happens but I think it will be an interesting thing to watch unfold whether I grind through the stakes or go bust again. You can see what went right or what went wrong. I think for ... (continued)
The reason I want to play as many different games as possible is that I heard a long time ago that playing one form of poker helps you with other games. It helps you see the other games in a new light but there is something to the fact that the best players in the world play all the games. Of course there has to be consistent themes that apply to all forms of poker. I know what I want ... (continued)
Last December of 2010, I actually quit my job as an engineer and set out to pursuit my poker life. During these crazy days, I have no idea what really happened and I’ve been struggling playing 25~50NL 6max. So I decided to give PLO 6max a try and I simply just couldn’t handle the variance. Playing PLO tilts me really bad and I feel like my poker career is done. Can you imagine pla ... (continued)
Hi, my name is Mike and I have FPS. I did a coaching session with Threads13 today, it was epic. We went into my HEM and looked at this years hands, which because of my other addiction, procrastination, was only like 21k hands. We filtered for “Went to SD=True” and “Won at SD=False”, and we saw some of the most horribly ridiculous poker play ever. I think we reviewed maybe 30 hands, and ... (continued)
After downloading Hold’em manager on a free trial and playing about with it, I think it’s going to be the one for me. Here is a hand I have just played and have converted it using the converter on this site, so not sure how it will come out yet! I have left the result off and will post later after I have had some comments. Interested to know if my play was – or + EV, regardless of results. I haven’t had much experience with online poker, only playing small stakes in home games and the odd casino tourney with low buy in’s. I have recently read an article in a poker mag about turning a $50 buy in into $500, using correct bankroll management and sound poker play. I am new to using a HUD, but thought I’d better try it out as it’s what all the pro’s use. I downloaded a free trial version of ... (continued)
First few hundred hands were me 6-tabling 100NL. I did this while watching The Thin Red Line (can you tell by the graph?) and trying to play LAG, taking advantage of reads etc. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work out (a highlight was 3-bet/5-bet shoving AJ in the BB vs a button open/4bet, he had KK, standard). Then I moved back to 50NL to 16 table and grind it out again. Â I’m still happy th ... (continued)
As a full ring grinder, one of the people I naturally look up to in poker is Nolan. The guy is a fantastic grinder who has sustained awesome results over millions of hands. One day my graph will look like his: Â Something to aspire to, anyway.
Graph of a session I just played, 16-tabling 100NL FR: Posted a profit of just less than 1BI, but christ, it was hard work getting there.Â
