Tonights session started off alright. I was up a couple dollars on the .02/.05 cash game online. I decided to leave the table and register for a MTT. It was only 21 players and I felt I had a good chance to at least cash. I had won a few hands and I was dealt 10-10 UTG. I raised to four times the blind, everyone folds and the big blind calls. The flop comes up 4-7-2. BB checks, I bet and he ... (continued)
After a looong time of SnG’s and MTT’s (Where most of my succes have been), I’m ready to try out cash. I’m not saying I’ve never played cash, I have, a lot! I just suck at it. . . My sessions always starts out pretty well, I’m a BI up, and suddenly I’m 3 BI’s down. I’ve never read HoH1+2 or any other cash book. The reason I joined DC is to see a lot of videos, and sta ... (continued)
Crazy – managed to get two decent sessions in in one day and and ended up about $8 down. But seeing as I was about $25 up after the first session then the $30 loss in the second hurt. First time I’ve had to use my stop loss rule – 3 buy ins. Feel much better for doing that now as I know I would have just lost another $20 had I stayed. Was flying after the first half – esp ... (continued)
Started level with about $120 23K hands between 21st November 2009 and 3rd January 2010 – 45 sessions so about 500 hands per session. Profit $81.62. Must admit I found that pretty easy. Apart from the initial variance swing the rest was pretty standard. Mainly spent the time getting used to the HUD and chasing the fish. Best session: $40 over 500 hands – $13/hr ish – at this leve ... (continued)
So how will I grind?? As mentioned, I won’t go broke so strict-ish BRM for me. I’ll use Chris Fergusons’s BRM rules for cash. Only buy in with 5% of my stack. I’ll generally play 4 6Max tables at a time. I’ll play with a full stack and reload when my stack drops to 75% of the buy in. I’ll leave a table if I reach 3 buy ins at the table. I’ll end a session if I drop 3 bu ... (continued)
Seems strange to be blogging when I’m sure no one will ever read – but hey ho. Main reason for writing this I guess is so I can vent or gloat about good and bad sessions; post the odd bad/good hand and maybe solicit some comment. Before I start with my current grindings I’m going to give a bit of background. Started to play poker just over 3 years ago – shortly before Christmas 2006. Always ... (continued)
