This month started out really great, and I quickly hit +100 buyins for the year. But it turned back as fast as it came, so now I’m grinding myself even after a early downswing for the fifth month in a row: I’m pretty happy, that I was able to put in the volume I have, no matter how I ran – showing i’m less results oriented than I used to be. I’m re watching EPT ... (continued)
For like a month and a half ago, I posted this thread in the DC microstakes forums, where I ask how I should become better without paying for coaching. I was probably in a massive downswing, and I wasn’t paying enough attention to stacksizes and some other important stuff that I do now. I tried for like 2 weeks after this thread, to watch videos, take notes and so on. But still ... (continued)
Here are my results for March 2011 together with the stats. I’ve included overall 3bet % and my unopened PFR % from each position as I’m concerned I’ve gone back to playing too LAG and want to monitor this in future months. Full post here with stats Â
My volume so far this month has been pretty average, only done 80k hands so far. I was hoping to top Feb where i did 120k plus hands. So ive decided to play 50k hands before the end of the month and hopefully grind my bankroll up to where i can call 25nl my main game. It will be tight, 10k hands per day. Rush will be the game, something im addicted to. Here is a graph of the month of March. Its 5 ... (continued)

OK – lost a couple of BI’s yesterday, which is not a good thing. Never is. But after reflecting on this, I think now I am able to be objective and say how or why this happened. I know I played badly, that is easy to say. But can I specifically note why, so I think this how I came to lose 2 BI’s: 1. Played 2 long. Look at the graph, got back to even but wanted to try to win 1 BI before I ... (continued)

So today I finally made some result! After playing some session where I only won about a buy in or two, today I played as optimal and perfect as possible. Catched a lot of bluffs, got in good and bluffed and the correct times. + VALUE BET. Some tips to some fresh micro players: If you open your A T on the button. Two weeks into my new playing style for micros is yielding some good results. My graph is shooting straight up. I would write it off as a heater (a micro heater?) but it lines up exactly with when I change my style. I’m sticking to the gameplan and will easily reach my goal of a consistent +20% ROI for the first quarter of 2011. If I reach this goal, I will move up from the 25c sngs to the $1 sngs. ... (continued)
This is what a year of break even poker looks like. Â Lessons learned: 1) When you fix leaks in your game, don’t introduce worse leaks. 2) Don’t play poker half-drunk after work. 3) Don’t be a nit. Anyhoo, new gameplan in 2011. I’ve identified what I believe are the biggest leaks in my game: not value-betting enough, wrong bet sizing, and not 3-betting enough in certain situations. PS: ... (continued)
I blame Grindcore and grogheadflow. This is from my last 4 or 5 sessions of 50NL and 100NL 6max. Playing poker this way is so much more fun.Â
I’m taking part in the 50k hand challenge with a bunch of fellow DCers. With a hundred bucks, I started at 10NL. Lost about 15 bucks there, moved down to 5NL and broke even for a little bit. Thought “Fuck this”, and moved up to 25NL with a 3BI roll. Lost a stack there. Sat with entire roll of $42 on a 50NL HU table. Huge fish sits down. I run like god and win over 150 bucks off him. Just for a break from cash games, I’ve been trying my hand at SNGs, mainly the 5.50s on Full Tilt. Results: Â Fuck SNGs. I hate variance.
(Click for make big)Â
Wake up, bleary-eyed to the sounds of the couple next door yelling at each other. Turn on cumputer, check 2p2 and DC, log on to Full Tilt. ? Profit!!! Â 5. Get out of bed and eat breakfast, $360 richer.
October: Pretty much a breakeven month for me (TY rakeback). My shot at 100NL didn’t work out so well (1 outered and 2 outered postflop 3 times, all for >200bb pots, but whatever), but on the plus side, this is the most volume I’ve ever played in one month ever. 16 tabling really isn’t that hard once you get used to it. One thing I’m happy about is that for the last 10-15k han ... (continued)
First few hundred hands were me 6-tabling 100NL. I did this while watching The Thin Red Line (can you tell by the graph?) and trying to play LAG, taking advantage of reads etc. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work out (a highlight was 3-bet/5-bet shoving AJ in the BB vs a button open/4bet, he had KK, standard). Then I moved back to 50NL to 16 table and grind it out again. Â I’m still happy th ... (continued)

One of the things that first attracted me to full ring is that most people say it has less variance. Bullshit. Â
Graph of a session I just played, 16-tabling 100NL FR: Posted a profit of just less than 1BI, but christ, it was hard work getting there.Â
I’ve been trying to get some volume in on these $24 turbos but i’ve only managed to play 84… I’ve been really busy with school/folk dancing stuff etc so I haven’t really put in almost any games. Usually once I get home I decide not to play because I’m way too tired or need to study, wohoo for autumn break. According to PTR, yesterday was officially my best day in poker over my “career”: Hopefully over the next week or so I’ll finally be able to push my lifetime PTR into the positive and establish a new career peak as well. I’m feeling very confident playing full ring at the moment, and will be exclusively playing 50NL and 100NL full ring for at least the next two weeks. This is the graph of my last 50k or so hands. It’s a mix of 25NL and 50NL, both 6max and full-ring. It’s interesting that over the last few thousand hands, my red line has stopped being a huge leak and started being a source of profit. I’m not sure what exactly I attribute that to, but I definitely feel that I’ve been playing more aggressively, bluffing in good spots when villains are weak, an ... (continued)
So I’ve been playing a lot of full ring recently. My shot at 100NL started brilliantly and got progressively worse, and I ended up going on a $1k downswing, my biggest ever. Not much I can do about it apart from pick myself up the floor and get back grinding, so that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve also started getting coaching from citizenwind, a prominent CardRunners coach. The worst thing about this game is you have no real way of verifying that your results are the result of ability or luck. June July and August were horrible for me, I really started to panic. Now September has been absolutely on Fire 16PTBB/100 Â I really focussed on some leaks in my game, and got a few new insights into Value betting. And as anyone will tell you value betting is key at the micros. So I hope some of this heater is ability related, and that it continues

First blog post. Due to me playing on a lot of non-PTR tracked sites I thought I´d give you a screenshot of all the hands in my current HEM database. I´ve been playing exclusively limit hold´em at a winrate of 1.6BB/100. The first part of the graph includes some low limit hands. But the last 200K hands should be mid limit with a winrate of 1.9BB/100.
