Last December of 2010, I actually quit my job as an engineer and set out to pursuit my poker life. During these crazy days, I have no idea what really happened and I’ve been struggling playing 25~50NL 6max. So I decided to give PLO 6max a try and I simply just couldn’t handle the variance. Playing PLO tilts me really bad and I feel like my poker career is done. Can you imagine pla ... (continued)
Well today i woke up to get my day started , and the first thing i see is the FTP debacle . I have a decent amount stuck on ftp and ub/ap , and it is incredibly frustrating to see all this go down at such a huge company. FTP was obviously ran by some horrible business people and i feel truly sorry for all the people who are worse off than me right now , as i was smart enough to whole a ... (continued)
Hello everyone ! This is my 1st ever blog post , so being that my 1st post as well as not being around DC very long I’m goin to start off with an introduction. My name is Shane I am 26 yrs old , and live in the middle of nowhere Missouri , USA lol . I have been playing poker now for about 4 years , the last 2 of which it has been my main source of income . I am a college dropout due to some bad decisi ... (continued)
It’s been some time since I’ve posted and I will show you the good, the bad, and the ugly. So much going on in my life. I’m not getting better but falling on the worse side. My insurance broker just fucked me when I changed my policy for this year they screwed up the paper work and I have no coverage. I found out when I went to get 2 prescription refills and they said $2349! And I have 4 ... (continued)
It’s a straight fact. I have been struggling so bad lately I just can’t stop it from happening. Who wins 10 buy ins and loses 10 buy ins the next day? I do. I really begin to question if I have actually learned something this past year. I mean come on. 50NL forever? Well I can’t say that since I had to cash out $1250 this month but I don’t deserve to move up anyway. The Jets suck. The G ... (continued)
Yeah it’s that bad (actually better than) since I’ve broken even another week. Unlike those bums wasting my time. All hyped up for the Giants game Monday Night. Gotta keep up with Philly. But enough about football, let’s talk poker. Ok so I’ve had a “swingy” week leading to a break-even and I only say that because after midnight I loss a massive hand Nut straight<top 2. Anyway I ... (continued)
This past week I started putting in more and better sessions after seeing some mistakes from last week. I did a couple of sweats and was sweated (is that right?) myself. It’s really helping my game to hear other people’s perspectives and what they concentrate on that I never have even thought of. I’m really trying to build my bankroll to move up to 100NL which if this rate continues it will be by ... (continued)
So I just want everyone to know that I’m a big cheater. Â I jumped back to 50NL for two reasons, because I’m very confident in my play, and I decided to concentrate on my online game, Â This means my live bankroll will be sitting here just in case I do something stupid. Â I’m really trying to move up to 100NL by 2011. Â I decided to open up a little now on my blog because I’ve been reading ... (continued)
First few hundred hands were me 6-tabling 100NL. I did this while watching The Thin Red Line (can you tell by the graph?) and trying to play LAG, taking advantage of reads etc. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work out (a highlight was 3-bet/5-bet shoving AJ in the BB vs a button open/4bet, he had KK, standard). Then I moved back to 50NL to 16 table and grind it out again. Â I’m still happy th ... (continued)
This is the graph of my last 50k or so hands. It’s a mix of 25NL and 50NL, both 6max and full-ring. It’s interesting that over the last few thousand hands, my red line has stopped being a huge leak and started being a source of profit. I’m not sure what exactly I attribute that to, but I definitely feel that I’ve been playing more aggressively, bluffing in good spots when villains are weak, an ... (continued)
Hello everyone ! I am a DC member for about one year, but you know, just for videos. I was a member of an another poker community, however, I decided find a new place. Hope that DC will be as good choice as the quality of movies here :D I will share some more info about me. I am a 20 year old Polish student, who wants to improve his life and live in luxury and happiness. I started a thread on 2p2 about my switching over to full ring full time, so I thought I might as well post it here as well. I started playing online poker seriously about 15 months ago. When I first started, I jumped into full ring, because that’s all I knew. I quickly found 2p2 and made the transition to 6max, because that’s what all the cool kids played, and I was told it was much more profitable. ... (continued)
The last month or so I hit a bumpy stretch in the road. Nothing went my way. At least, that’s how it felt. Anyway, after watching the first episode of Rush it to NL Â I decided to take a fresh start. Dropped all the way down to 50NL and started playing Full Ring Rush… After trying to beat the same 40 or so regs at 6max Rush 200NL it’s quite refreshing to play against weak ... (continued)
Played 1860 hands today mixed between 30 and 50NL Seems like i get some kindof brainfuck in the beginning of each sesh thinking im a pro handreader calling stupid stuff down with low pp on high boards and so on. Then i fing myself stuck like 75$ having to struggle for a few hours to get it back. Its not because of runbad or anything its because i play like a donkey. Played a Session yesterday About 3,5h Of mixed 30 and 50NL. I started out doing my regular 4 tables of 30nL wich went well upped my BR by 2,5 bi then took a break. After break i played 2 tables of 50NL wich went the opposite direction of the prebreak sesh. Everyone at Ongame 50NL seems to be serious 3bet monkeys. I had 3 villains on my 1st table with 3bet over 15.5 over more then 100 hands. I ... (continued)
PLO I played 2 short sessions of 25plo today at PokerStars, 3 tables each, and won just over a buyin. The first was 40 minutes and I think I played alright until I tried to bluff a fish on the river on a double paired board. He ends up making the right call on the river, and I immediately quit because I knew I was going to be off my game after that. The second session was 80 mi ... (continued)
It is 1pm on Wednesday, May 19, and I just woke up getting ready to start my daily routine. I have not blogged in over a month, I have not played poker, watched videos, read the forums in over 2 weeks. I just had enough of poker. I was working on the new and improved video guide here for the forum, I was getting MTR videos tagged, all while having a full time job, a girlfriend and trying to win mone ... (continued)
This week I made a dual audio video with one of the guys from our Secret HQ group -. I thought I’d done pretty well, but upon review there are some significant problems with the end result. There are some really big errors in my logic at times, and the balance of the dialogue is really skewed towards me talking and him listening. Additionally, I have some really annoying verbal tics that ... (continued)

I made a video at 50NL rush poker today. It mostly focuses on tight solid play, and I make a ton of notes and try and give a commentary on how I might adjust based on these incredibly slim reads. My hope is that over time the rush player pool will stabilise somewhat and those who start making notes early will profit the most. Anyway, here is the link . I want to describe the correct th ... (continued)
Its 2:22am on Wednesday Jan 6, 2010 and I am currently converting a few DC video series to Ipod format so I can study when I am on break at work. I am taking small steps towards my goal of working harder on my game. I am still not doing nearly as much as I would like, but I am getting there. I think if I just change my life and my study habits around overnight, I am never going to stick to it. It is December 18, 2009 and I am just starting to get ready for work. As I look back on the year that was, I am super disappointed. It has been a week since I started my blog so I figured it was time for a little roundup. I’m going to try to do this every week from now on to keep things interesting for the people who read my posts and to keep some structure in my blogposts.
