So I'm mostly a 1/2 NL live grinder and I easily crush the games. I was trying to give online a go but I easily found myself being outplayed, mostly because I'm not used to this new environment.
Some key things I've found over a very small sample size:
-no body pays you off if you fast play your hand i.e. if you flop a set, or top 2 and you raise on the flop, I have never gotten any calls yet. I'm guessing there's more merit to slowplaying online then live.
-3 betting. This is absolutely killing me. I'm so used to a limp-fest type of game where whenever someone 3bet it was QQ+ and AK.
-aggression post-flop. generally whenever I have top pair, top kicker live and I get check-raised on the flop, it's almost never good. But this doesn't seem to be the case online.
The only option I've found was to play one table and try to get reads on all the players, but this is a little brutal if I'm only playing NL10. Any tips/adjustments? Should i just not bother with online since I'm winning consistently live?
Thanks.

when i was last at a casino, in auckland NZ, play there was the same.
infact, it was both extremes. passive, with a few bad aggressives thrown in.
you just need to learn the aggressive online style.
so start playing micro stakes where the hit isnt as great. stats are important until you get a feel for the play style online. start posting hands and watching the videos. start talking to the online players. you'll pick it up. just takes time.

I never understood people that complained about loose-passive fish that call down with anything. The easiest players to play against (imho). Just bring them to value-town and know they have the nuts when they raise. But you're right, I started playing a full ring game at slightly higher stakes and it's been working for me. Maybe I should just stick with single tabling.

loose passive fish are the easiest to beat for sure. The main difficulty people have going from live to online is the online games are more aggressive for sure. Whenever I go and play live I'm always having to remind myself of how the live games are more passive.
