This!

As played you should have folded earlier in the hand, and i guess that it's on the turn. I don't think that he barrels anything worse for value and i doubt that this is a bluff, you cold called a 3-bet so your range looks something like AQ+, TT+...

Cold 4bet >>> cold calling.

Miss sooo much value against AK,AQ,AJ,QQ,JJ,TT by CC here.
Get screwed on A hi flops.

Problem in this spot is you dont have enough info to make a good decision on turn or river because of the lack of info. If you get into a spot where you dont know how well you can play on later streets take the earlier street where you know its profitable.

Here you know that 4betting preflop is super profitable, and you dont know how profitable CC here is, as you posted this hand.

EDIT: I would CC pre if I was suer villain would overplay TP on flop (if he 3bets lots of K9 etc hands and hits TP and doesnt fold, and/orif he is a barreling maniac)

I´m def 4-betting pre. As played folding OTT is IMHO best option. 44 hand is not large sample size and we don´t what is he 3-betting but there are still a lot of aces in his range and until he proves otherwise I´m folding OTT

thanks so much for the replies!
it's so weird I put in all the work to play 40 or 50 VPIP and I still don't get action, not many 3 bets preflop or action postflop, maybe a few raises now and then on the flop....

I'd almost always 4-bet pre to 2,2 / 2,4, except maybe against some spewy-bluffy Reg (at higher stakes).

As played pre, either you don't put that many strong aces in his range (therefore calling through River if you know he can 3-barrel bluff or coming over the top Turn to fold weak aces), or you do (hence fold Turn).

IMHO Calling Turn is always burning money.

I hope you mean you put in the work by playing +ev spots or slightly below. Not just for the sake of it Poke Tongue

yeah I guess by 4 betting you also change the EV by winning those pots where they have Ax and hit their ace but fold instead
