Was playing Zoom, villain is unknown. Only info I have on him is that he was playing 3 tables. Pre I usually flat in this spot vs unknowns. Flop I was planning to check/call but he only bet 1/2 pot so I thought I could discount a lot of sets and AA/AJ so I thought he would bet/fold a ton and raising would be better. On the turn I thought the only hands he has to raise with are KJ, fd's and unlikely sets and I didn't think he would be aggro with fd's often enough to stick it in. Is bet/folding fine here?

I think flatting vs an unknown is probably only optimal if you have position. On the flop, you are getting all the bluffs to fold out w/ your raise. Definite fold on the turn. Villain has called a x/r OTF OOP on a board that isn't super wet and now raises on the turn. Seems like strong value at this point.

we've got our self into this spot because we never 3bet PF.

what range are you assigning villian? we can only narrow it when he calls our flop raise.
but even then it's still pretty wide.
