You think the hand should be played differently on the flop turn or river? (on the river it is an easy call though with just 5$ left)
i say bet bet bet with big sizing and shove river

I never figured out if this kind of thinking is a fallacy, but:
Those kind of spots come up a lot and play so much easier if we opened to 4x or 3,5x preflop without altering ranges too much at all. (read: are more +ev)
Bet, bet, shove is the way to go here in my book. After all think about the other side of it: If you didn't want to bet, bet, shove here, where are we barreling all of our air? Turn? River?
KhJh, QhJh, KhQh, weaker Ax. I saw a lot of players, who thinks, that he can "value" bet with Ax here, because he is sure, that we just fired 2nd barrel with air or KK, QQ.
But can you give me hand examples, where he call you down, and you win? AQ, AJ (for example I probably fold these against a tight UTG player btw without read), but I think, nothing else from a 25/24 player. Ofc against a 70/10 I fire that 3rd barrel, but I think, this isn't that guy.
If you say he is going to "value" Ax because he is sure we have KK, QQ that means you expect villain to actually call with those while on the same note you say he is going to bluff KhQh KhJh QhJh because our hand looks KK, QQ when we check, so which is it? He expects us to fold or call with JJ-KK?
Against aggressive thin value bettor ch/calling could work, but in general 25nl players are still passive when it comes to river play.
It is much better to shove and sometimes value own ourselves while putting villain in a "Should I call or should I fold?" with AJ AQ, then check and put him in a "Should I bet or should I check back? If bet what size?" situation, if he bets 6$ on the river? All of the sudden you lost 10$ of value in this hand by failing to shove while villain almost always will shove better then TPTK hand.
Plus regulars at these limit still suck (myself included) and won`t always fold AQ AJ. It takes just one second of weakness to push call just because "Me have TP, me call".

Yeah, it's true. I leveled myself here. ![]()
I'm still not sure, there is so much value in the river shove, but 100%, this is a close question. I have an interesting idea here too: What if we have AJ, AQ in this hand? (not rare spots too)

With AQ I have no problem shoving river 100% too, while it is more likely he can have AK now but still unlikely he won`t raise with it at some point in the hand and if you somehow get a guy to fold from a split with his AQ that`s great news for us.
With AJ.... I actually don`t know.
