Hi Jason / Steve,
Just watched the first vid after a reccomendation in the forum and I am well pleased, will be getting stuck into episode two in a min.
Just one question, I noticed in your "Must Read" books list there was no mention of Harrington on cash games, is this because they are aimed more at full ring instead of 6 max or are there other reasons.
Thanks Guys
Mike

HOC is terrible for online 6-max games which play way more aggro preflop than the 10-max full ring games the books are intended for. i do have to say that HOH 1-2 are prob two of the books that helped me the most in my poker develoment a few years ago, but HOH 3 was shit.
I feel that I waisted my time watching this, but it's good for beginners and I wish I have seen this when I started playing. Good job, smth between 4-5 stars.
i didnt learn much but it s great for beghinners and its cool to stat from the bottom in case theres sometime u missed . good video look forward to episode 2
I'm starting from the scratch again with a new bankroll, site etc... and also learning from the beginning. Thanks for the lovele series!
Kudos on a project well executed!
Sorry to be late to the party, but I do have a question/thought that derives perhaps from years playing live poker. Twenty minutes in you discuss and pretty much dismiss tells as not a very good way to improve your game. You mention the scene in "Rounders" where Matt Damon saves his own skin by noticing what John Malkovich does with his cookies. I agree. That's right up there with beating Johnny Chan at one and only one hand, hence concluding that he can dominate the final table at the WSOP. But . . .
If you read some of the older stuff - Doyle Brunson's Super System, Caro's Book of Tells, you come away with something quite different. I'd call it a level of awareness. If you study each picture in Book of Tells, any one asinine in isolation, it's not much help but if you slog through it casually you may find that you see your opponents a bit differently, a bit more clearly. You get first instincts that turn out to be right more often. Poker is a sum total of ten-thousand perceptions and when they guide your behavior from an unconscious level - that, I believe, is what people mean when they say they were "in the zone".
Just a thought from a mediocre talent.
This is the first video I have watched at DC. Right now I am playing one table of .01/.02 at PokerStars. I am taking it slow and focusing on building solid fundamental skills before I move up in limits and play more tables. The video was great and I can't wait to watch the rest of the series. Thanks guys!
I love this basic shit!
Hi all, just watched this and i wanted to say that the hand analysis with JJ is not totally right. When oppo c/c three times behind, better be careful on the river...

well sure, if you get checkraised on the river then your hand is not likely to be good, but that is completely different then our hand where our opponent just passively called down with his midpair.

Firstly thanks for the reply. Secondly i just posted here because i played that hand after watching this video (lol), thought about checking but remembering of this i bet/pushed (lol^2). Also the only difference between my hand and the video hand (JJ) is that i bet 3/5 river while video's hand was pushed directly... calling the c/raise was bad i know but that's not the point.
Concluding, in the video your considerations were "if he had a set, he would have check/raised flop or turn, so we could put sets out of his ranges"; just wanted to say that's not always true... there are donks who play like that (at micro).
Thanks for the series. Is there a similar intro to NL100 6-max, or does this series pretty much cover that?
