Hey, wondering how you guys refocus or readjust after some downswing, where you played ok, but def let tilt and loosing affect you somewhat? Just spent a couple hours going over all biggest pots- 40bb or more, and every pot where I lost over 12 bb after worst session of my poker life (on a soft site) where this just can't happen all that often because it is somewhat passive, and people aren't eager to get money in flipping. I felt as though I was playing too weak tight, but was still crushing crushing this site/stake. Started (incorrectly) throwing in 3 bet semi bluffs, barrelling etc. and it has all gone to shit. Anyway, besides adjusting or trying to adjust back to apply it to current game, what other things do you do to find errors and leaks in HM, or outside of the software? Would love to get any feedback, no es divertido lose like this obv!

short sessions helped me when i was getting to fancy. just try to make sure you dont spew for a short time and then stop playing. go get a sandwich watch a tv show or something and then do it again. then slowly work up the session time and dont be afraid to stop before the scheduled quitting time.

1 week break
Man, I can't imagine taking a whole week off at this point. I was struggling a week or so ago and took a day off and felt fine when I got going again. But I guess everyone is different.
Kerwinty, don't be too hard on yourself, just keep trying to get better and play your A-game. Easier said than done, but I always think when things aren't going well that I just need to focus on improving. This helps me not worry about results quite as much in the short-term.

u sound addicted to poker and thats not a good thing. not being able to take a week means trouble imo
It's not that I can't take a week off if I feel it's necessary, but I have goals and taking a week off at this point is a waste of time.

Yea, taking today off,I can't take a week off as I need the income. Going to do a review or sweat session with a poker friend and get back on the grind. Focusing on playing many short sessions. I seem to do way worse playing long stretches where I lose a hand to a fish and then target him, and start 3 betting more, bluffing, or calling oop which is not solid, and not how I particularly win at micro poker...

I think when you start having these kind of thoughts its time to move on from poker.

This might be part of the issue. Poker is gambling, you can make money from it long term, but short term it can be undependable for income at times. Maybe you are trying to force things too much?

I think the most important skill in poker is patience. When you have no patience the result is tilt.
As soon as I start trying to force a profit I start losing. Unfortunately I don't notice I'm doing it until I've lost a few buyins. So I take a few days off, watch a vid of someone 'solid' like threads and get back to making money. Patience is the one skill I never manage to fully get a hold of, but when I've got it I'm far, far more profitable and weirdly, my red line goes up not down when I'm patient. There are so many bad players out there. You just have to wait for them to hand you the money.
(note - this doesn't stop you from relentlessly 3betting some foldy reg or constantly isoing a fish - it just means you do it when the time is right, not just because you're frustrated)
