Got lost in this hand. Villain was 27/23 over 49 hands, hadnt seen him get out of line or do anythin goofy.

Flop: ($1.50) 7 Diamond 8 Diamond Q Spade (2 players)
Hero bets $1.00, BB raises to $3, Hero calls $2

Turn: ($7.50) J Club (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $4.00, Hero calls $4

Hero checks, BB bets $7.00, Hero folds

Final Pot: $15.50
BB wins $14.73
(Rake: $0.77)

When i was playing the hand i thought that calling his flop-raise was wrong but now im not even sure i should have cbet. Wasnt sure how much i should change my thinking based on the fact that its BvB and i have been stealing quite frequently. I put him on a FD as there are few straight draws with me having two 9's.

Thoughts would be much appreciated.

Make it 4x from the SB. We don't want to entice our opponents into playing against us when we are OOP.

It's a pretty wet flop, but I still like cbetting. Fold to the raise tho. People at 25NL are rarely raising this flop with something worse than 99.

These situations are always very opponent specific, so it's kinda hard put the guy on a range. Seeing as the guy is still relatively unknown to us I wouldn't take the hand too far post flop. Most players at this level are rather passive anyway, so you will more often find yourself up against a stronger rather than a weaker range when faced with aggression.

Just fold to his flop raise. most of the time we are nearly dead with only 2 outs left. if he raises a flush draw (which i dont expect him to raise that often on 25NL), he has a ton of equity against our hand, especially when he also has overcards.
