Villain 18/14 over 77 hands, Cbet 20% (sample of 5)

Would appreciate comments about my river fold as well as how I played the hand generally. Should I be 3 betting PF all the time?

Thanks Smile

What's his fold to 3 bet stat ?
Anyway UTG's line looks stupid and spewy but seems like he's got AA,JJ or AJ more often than not here. Can't see him bluffing, he would have cbet clubs and generally bluffed on the flop I guess.
Probably not a bad fold you only beat a bluff can't see him playing AQ this way.

I dont think its necesary to 3 bet all the time with ak but vs utg raise i think i would prefer to 3 bet. As played once youve hit i think you have to lead the flop and turn. The way youve played it i think you have to call the river bet.

You got to ask yourself what he is putting you on and the way youve played it,it looks like a missed flush or garbage taking a stab on the turn ,hes not putting you on ak in a million years and i would think your ahead a large ammount of the time here.

Look at the hand again and ask yourself what you would put someone on taking the line you took.

Thats my opinions anyway i dont know if others will agree.

Villain had folded 2/2 to a 3 bet. Something I should have checked at the time! Although it is a small sample to go on.

I do like the idea of leading flop, especially given villain's low cbet stat. 90%+ of flops I check OOP, often through force of habit as much as it being 'standard' but this seems like a good spot for leading.

Villain EP raising range is very tight-10% or so, therefore I don't think there is a lot of air in his range at all to begin with. Plus once he checks the flop, I'm more inclined to put him on a hand with showdown value-my thinking is that he has a mid-high pair here quite a bit. Whilst some of these may raise small on the turn to eke out value from Jx or a flush draw, I think he's probably checking behind on the river- I don't give him credit for turning any of them into bluffs, plus his bet sizing is not congruent with anything marginal. That was my line of thought anyway.
