In general this would be a snap fold vrs a 43/5

But given the history its obv much much closer to a call.
If he has been spazing around postflop alot id prolly call here.

Whats the hand sample?

Given this fish is likley to try get tricky and min raise or something with an 8 or AA I think we can call here.

Honestly Iv seen these monkeys do this with QQ .
Its just too likley he's giving us another present here =-)

I agree with Poker_Road, I'd call it off here given past history and expect to see a worse Ace or smaller pocket pair a lot. If the 59 hand had happened recently I'd be a little more hesitant but I'd still call it off as sometimes these huge overshoves turn into leveling wars. If the hand had happened more than a few orbits ago I think its a snap as he probably doesn't even remember you saw him do it.

Yeah. Hand was like 2 orbits ago. How often do we think he's showing us a worse ace here? I figure it's either "highly likely" or "not at all". If he has something like AT or lower he's basically turning it into a bluff. Do we expect him to do that? I don't know what goes through these players minds, but I thought that this was either {T8,A8,78,89} or a bluff (i'm including pocket pairs JJ and lower in this range). Given our history I weighted his range towards junk and made the call. He showed 66 and my hand held up. I wasn't sure about my call after, because I think I snap fold this against a reg/any decent player. Thanks for the help guys.

Just for kicks, is anyone calling this vs. a decent player with no reads?

I agree if he's shoving a worse ace here he's turning it into a bluff, but he also probably doesn't know what that means, I think his range will be predominantly pocket pairs, but at least a few aces in there. Also, to consider calling against a decent player I'd need a great read or atleast an 8, without a good read im probably folding anything below T8 or J8. Good players almost never do this without the nuts though.

In the original hand I couldn't fold and would expect to be ahead a lot.

Against a decent player without a better read than decent I'd probably fold. This would be a really weird line from anyone decent though. I'd assume our decent read was wrong when I saw it.

i think you need to give your reads a bit more credit if you acted on it, were right, then still weren't sure if you make the right play after seeing the read confirmed. Wink

Given read I'd be snapping this off, he is obviously clueless. I could fold this vs a really lose passive guy as they will show up with like 85o with this line and play Ax passive by just calling.

Not sure what I'd do vs a decent player, as decent players usually have no range for taking this line.

I've seen some crazy stuff on paired boards-and most of it is spazzy bluffs. More than once I've seen players with stats like 35/0 take this line with QQ/KK that they "slowplayed" preflop. they don't realize they are turning their hand into a bluff here, they simply hope their hand is good and shove it in.
