RIVER ($17.60) 5Spade THeart 3Heart 2Spade 6Spade

villain unknown, only 5 hands, but looks fishy, 40/0.

I am not sure about river. Should I valubet or ck back?
I value, then how much? smallet bet/fold, or bigger bet/call?

He can have 56/sets/4, and I beat some combinations of Tx and random
cards.

Edit; This is 25 nl, my bad

I could see villian taking this line with flush draws though hands like QhJh, even Kh9h if he's fishy. But I can't see any of these sort of hands calling any bet on the river now that they've missed.

So I'd probably check back because I can't see any hand that would call a river bet here that you beat and facing a c/r would be super gross.

I have seen fish do this a lot with drawas and mid pairs, maybe go for some thin value on the river. But it is super close, as a lot of the draws got there.

bet/fold $6-7 and get looked up by Tx a lot. JJ,QQ. maybe even 99. maybe even A5. maybe even AKhh. 67hh. the list goes on if he's still doing the ole' minbet/call. minbet/call = "i underrep my hand so that guy will bluff me a lot." ez game.

the HH seems a bit misformated?

villain is SB and you're BTN, right?

i would definitely go for value here on the river and bet 1/3 pot which is around $6. fold to a raise.
if he calls you made value. if he folds that's fine too.

yeah i'd just go ahead and shove now, I think you're still going to be good against a wide variety of hands.

though, checking can be considered since he's going to have alot of 2p type combos/bdfd that got there/etc.

orange:
so is it either check behind OR shove?
how about a small value bet that can get called more often?
if we shove we freeroll all of his better hands.
if we b/f we can get value and we can still get away.

i guess b/f can be considered...stacks and pot size make this a bit annoying. though, given his previous action, i'd probably say it's unlikely that we're good when he check/shoves the remaining $8 or whatever it is after we bet $6.

Thank you Orange for your input to this thread.

What I am wondering is, aren't We pot commited when We bet river?

For example when We bet 6 and he shoves We have to add approximately 10$ to 37 or smt like that.

I am always confused when it comes to b/f and b/c and being pot commited;-(

when villain has no semblance of pot odds or reading hands or betting for value, shove doesn't really make sense. he calls big bets with big hands and calls little bets with little hands.

as per the master of noobs, hellmuth value all day long, 1/3 pot for me. if $5.28 was good enough on turn, it's good enough on river.

keep shearing that sheep. give him a pat on the bum and he's back off to his little patch of grass waiting to gamble with ATo preflop. we risk just enough, he gets the right price, happy day for everybody!
