had 56 hands in my database on this guy and his 3-bet TOT was 25 and 4-bet was at 50.

Blinds are .05/.10

UTG (PFR: 8): raises 4x

BTN (me, hand: TT): Call.

BB (3-better): 3-bets.

UTG calls. I call.

I flop an overpair and I shove after 3-better bets and we both have roughly 100BB stacks. This guy was pretty aggressive and I couldn't tell if he was a decent player or not. He had QQ and I lost. I think my mistake was relying on the HUD and not waiting for him to actually get squeezing or 3-betting light. IDK, how do you guys use the 3-bet and 4-bet stats to your advantage?

just because he's aggressive, doesnt mean he'll stack off with air. it means he's more likely to stack off with TT+, AQs+. but also, if he's got an other (over) pair, he's going to play it aggressively. as with most draws. and he's also likely to stack off with them on the flop. i know that sounds a tad contradictive. what i mean is absolute air.

your basically counting on him having air a lot, without going into his range any.
the more he 3bets, the more likely he'll have something that beats us.

your call PF is ok. it's multiway, and your getting good implied odds to call.

Yeah, I'm guilty of this too. I see crazy stats and I assume he's a maniac even though I have five hands on him...

People agree it'd be bad to shove preflop instead of flat?

yea i think i had a decent amount of hands in the database on the UTG guy, so his range was a bit narrow. I think he was a limp caller that only raised big hands. Although obviously it wasn't a high pocket pair or he'd have put more money in on the flop.

so the general consensus is actually SEE a guy 3-betting or squeezing light b4 making a judgment and also waiting until 200 hands.

its hard to say without going into the math. and ive not gone too far into this kind of poker math yet to be able to figure it out.

i think the basic gist is, yes, he's aggressive, but we still not 100% sure that he's aggressive enough to make stacking off with TT PF, let along on this flop, +EV enough to play it that way.

more than 56 hands and a few more reads will be required.

Baylor I had a hard time adding anything to this conversation because
1) you posted results. That is going to taint the analysis in the thread.
2) you gave stats but didn't say if it was for BB or UTG. I think it was BB, but not really sure.
3)you didnt describe the flop besdies that you had an overpair 952r is a lot differnt than 567tt or 623monotone. If there are draws on the flop that gives him more hands he may cbet with. a dry flop doesnt give him as many draws/air type hands.
