so villain is 27/20 - 14%3b - 59 hands no particular reads
i decide to Cb here because of the gutshot & 2 overs & backdoor fd
what do you think about the Cb & the sizing ?
turn i spyke gin, but i get ck/minr...
i mean, i cant fold right, villain can have 67s 9x Tx pp maybe
turn villain ck's and i decide to make a smalling VB w the intention of folding to a raise... (i think the moment villain raises again on the river its close to alwayz a boat...)

what do you guys think ?

after a turn c/r, followed by a check on the river, what were your thoughts behind beting there?

level 1 thoughts : i has a straight and i has to bet it !
no but really, i thought if he had a big hand that beats me he wouldv probably bet the river aswell
i could check behind but i think i miss value from hands that might want to bluff catch me (altough i dont ever have any bluffs in my range)

i dont know, dont you think there is value to be gained, i mean, obv the ck/minr on the turn is a pretty fishy move so theres a big chance villain is a bit fishy & could be possible he ck/mr the turn w 9x Tx - & ck/c the river...

we need to do some range analysis and go from there.

problem is, these types of plays are rather confusing, which for me, generally means they have something strong. and our hand can't handle too much added aggression on the river. its a spot that doesnt come up too often, but always causes me problems. invariably i check to get to showdown. but in saying that, you can easily get value from 9x, JJ+, J7x or 67x, TJ+.

he can be raising the turn with air, FD's, ATx, QTx, TJx, 9x, 99+ (excluding 88, as thats prolly raising the flop). but its the river check thats confusing. so, if we think he's capable of bluff catching, and there's enough bluff catching hands in his range, then i might actually bet about $3. but no matter how much we bet on the river, we have to fold to a raise.

his turn sizing + river check makes me think he's either really polarized or a huge nit with 9x.

So, on the river, i'm bet/folding for value, but what hands are we targeting from him? I'm thinking we should target the 9x range, since bluffs never call. His line makes no sense, and he prob doesn't know what he's doing, but he did x/r the turn, leaving a good change he's got 9x. 9x is never folding for $6.5-$8

CBet size is fine. His pf range is mostly broadways and PPs, which is mostly inelastic on this board.
