Villain is a reg. playing 21/21, ST:57, 3b:13 for 70hands

Hand 1/1Hand HistoryReplayer
Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #13537372

BTN: $25 (100 bb)
Hero (SB): $27.23 (108.9 bb)
BB: $39.85 (159.4 bb)
UTG: $56.31 (225.2 bb)
MP: $64.16 (256.6 bb)
CO: $31.39 (125.6 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q A
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.90, BB raises to $2.75, Hero raises to $5.70, BB raises to $39.85 and is all-in, Hero folds

I don't like 4betting small OOP very much because you are getting called a lot (in my experience). However I don't mind getting called with AQs, but I don't wat to call a shove with it since I don't have some kind a 4b/5b dynamic with this player. Calling the 3b might be un option though.

BB has a wide 3B range vs a steal from the SB so I'm happy calling the 3B even we are OOP. I assume villain is very polarized here so AQs is a good hand to call in this spot.

4bet/folding can be ok oop when you think he is 3betting wide and that you are pretty dead against his 5bet range equitywise.
but in a blind battle its probably too strong. 4bet/folding still might correct (not best) but you are sacrifice a lot of equity.
so in a blind vs blind situation i would either call his 3bet if you think you can profitably 4bet bluff but have to fold when he 5betshoves or 4bet with the intention of calling a shove. this is obiviously Villain and dynamic dependend.
in this case with the given information and dynamic i would probably just call pre flop.

Exactly, I totally depends on how often we 4bet in spots like this. If we 4bet a lot we can 4bet/call, if we rarely 4bet in spots like this it's a call. This hand is too good to turn into a bluff BvB imo because we are doing well vs polarized AND depolarized 3bet ranges.

I would flat the 3bet here, AQ plays well in position. Alot of the time we will be ahead of there 3betting range too. Problem with 4balling is that when they jam were not gonna be ahead.

ands like AT or KJo id 4bet here as were getting reverse implied odds alot

Why would it be hard to play? I'm happy with a pair vs this guy and on some board we can C/R if we totally miss... His range is pretty wide here.

In conclusion,
I have to have a range for calling in this spot, since it's a very common one. Against a reg probably we have to view it as a single raised pot with the difference that the pot is bigger. When I thought it over I come to the idea to flat AA,KK in this spot. Something tyhat I almost never do when I am OOP. If I put some premiums in my range for calling his life will be hell to 3bet me relentlessly Smile
