Villian is a good regular. Playing 24/19 3bet 10% overall, 12%sb. cbet 3bet pot 73% turn 61% 1.3k hands
The only kinda relavent note is c/r TPTK ch turn. So he can be tricky. His WWSF is 53% so he fights successfully for pots.

CO: $50.00
BTN: $17.80
SB: $56.25
BB: $52.75
Hero (UTG): $50.00
MP: $299.69

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is UTG with J Heart J Diamond
Hero raises to $2, 3 folds, SB raises to $6, 1 fold, Hero calls $4

Flop: ($12.50) 9 Diamond 7 Spade 4 Spade (2 players)
SB bets $8.00, Hero calls $8

Turn: ($28.50) K Heart (2 players)
SB bets $14.25

I'm quite lost in this hand. His 3bet is exceptionally strong vs my UTG raise even though i play quite similar to him. We havent got in any notable hands recently and im just coming back to 50nl from a 2 month hiatus. I find it difficult to give him a range less than AKo AA-QQ even though he has high 3bet/barrel stats. What is the communities thoughts on how to play this hand?

Also, my instinct tells me that his bet sizing is relavent. From memory he would cbet/barrel halfp in 3bet pots. His 3bet due to positions is quite strong and my call is also. Therefore he may cbet larger (as he did) with his strong range for value and his turn halfp bet is less as he wants value from my 99-QQ and th K is an overcard.

You could bluff catch here if hes a reg who is thinking about board textures and ranges... against this villain, you could freeze play on the turn but not really sure if villain has to many semi-bluffs here considering hes 3 betting a utg raiser hes prob deff polarized pre-flop....like if hes bluffing flop hes prob always bluffing this turn...hard decision here...whatshis WTSD?? prob a close spot where fold could be good and a call turn river is also good....doesnt seem like hes setting up stack sizes either for fold equity...hell have a half sized pot bet on river....might be a fold wait for a better spot...Kind of hard to play JJ vs this type of player when he 3 bets...not sure if a 4 bet/fold might be better pre?? or raising these flop textures...

If you think his range is AK and AA-QQ why do you call pre-flop? What are you planning?

And the turn is a clear fold if you put his pre-flop range at what you did. Even the flop could be a fold given he bets QQ-AA pretty much 100% of the time and probably doesn't always bet AK on a board this co-ordinated, and when he does bet AK he still has 25% equity vs you.

if you think his range is that tight you should call all pp to setmine, basicly your hand is the same as 22 vs that range, what would you do with 22 in this spot ?

You all bring up a good point about folding earlier if his range is what I said. My main reason for posting is for opinions on what range you think he has, given stats/reads. It's easy enough to plan vs a premium range, if that is a reasonable range assumption
I would fold 22 pre normally. The call without a real plan pre was a mistake, I'm a bit rusty from my break and forward planning is something that sometimes goes out the window when playing my b game.. Definitely something I'm trying to work into my 'unconscious competence'.

Do you have any aggro history with villain to expect him to be 3betting your UTG light? If not, I would assign something like KQo, AQ+, QQ+. And yes, 3b vs EP is a HM2 feature. Not sure about HM1.

I think fold the turn. He probably bets that size on flop because the board is so wet and he wants to price out draws vs his overpair.

I use it on the original HEM. It's not on the default popup so you have to configure it, but definitely worth the time. Every villain will be different with spots they like to 3bet.
