Hey,

villain is fishy, i have seen him open-limping and stuff like that. He is playing 76/28 so far, but i just have 29 hands on him. I haven't seen him raising or check/raising.

Preflop: I 3-bet for value with the intention of getting it in. I expect him to call with pocket pairs, suited connectors, broadwyay hands.....

Flop: I bet for value from hands like: AJ, QJ, JT, TT, 99, 88, flush draws, AQ, AT, QT, T9s, Q9s... I think he would most likely raise KJ, JJ and 44.

Turn: I bet for value again, from quite the same range as above. My plan for the river is to check/fold mostly, unless it's a blank, then i'd check/call. (What do you think about that?)

River: My plan was to check/call on blanks, do you like to check/call on this river? Or do you like it more on something like a 2h? If you check/call, do you check/call any size? (Yeah villain checked back, but i'm not really sure whats best if he would have bet.)

Flop+ Turn, ok?

I like your play + thoughts on the hand. if we bet flop we can def bet that turn imo as it doesn't change anything.

I like river check as well because QT got there , he folds out his missed flushes and some weaker J's.

"Learning myself " , I think this play is 100% correct in a SRP, just not sure if it applies to a 3bet pot?

I think you played the hand fine

My advice would be to get into the habit of using pokerstove or a similar equity calculator to find out if flop and turn are value bets and what you might do on various rivers.

Board: KsJs4c7c9d
Equity Win Tie
MP2 34.69% 34.69% 0.00% { QdQh }
MP3 65.31% 65.31% 0.00% { KK+, AQs+, ATs, KJs+, QTs, As8s, As7s, As6s, As5s, As4s, AQo+, KQo }

So you can call up to a pot size bet on river assuming he bluffs AQ and some missed FD combos. It really depends on how aggro or passive villain is overall , some fish would check back AQ or AT here and it would always be a c/f vs them. Others wouldnt have ATo combos because theyd have limped it pre. One way to get a better feel for an answer is to look at there stats and consider how they play overall , a stat i like to use is river aggression %. (grindcore vid 1)

I forgot QTo which drops equity to 30% meaning you can still call up to 2/3 pot bet on river but im not going to get bogged down on detail i think the thing you can take away from this is that you can only get a better sense by putting ranges into pokerstove and changing river cards/his bluffing range.

I think it's also correct in a 3-bet pot vs fishy players. Yes their ranges are a bit narrower, but they still call your 3-bets with all broadway hands and all type of speculative hands like suited connectors, suitetd gappers, pocket pairs, Axs... On that board they can call with alot of junk, and we want to force them to make a mistake, which is calling too much. When they raise, we can easily fold, because we aren't committed.

That's a great advice and i should defenitely do this more often when I review my hands!

But how do you decide if someone is aggressive enough to bluff catch, if you are up against an unknown? In this hand i have just 29 hands on villain...
