What's my equity? Math of NL Check-up
I want to check-up on this EV calc. I did and get some of the math guys to weigh in. And it never hurts the practice this stuff.

A) His range is 22, 33, AA, AK, 45, and various FD/SD combos. How much equity do I need to call? What's the EV of a call vs his range?
B) I call vs his 65s. What's my EV? (To make it quicker, I have 87% equity according to PStove)
Thanks guys.
You have the nuts here!
why dont you just use pokerstove for something like this? it takes about 30 seconds.
63.75 in the pot and you have to call 22.75, so you need > 26.3% equity to call profitably.
Let E = your equity (use Pokerstove with whatever range you wanna give him)
EV of calling = E * 63.75 - (1-E) * 22.75
For the last part of your question, if you have 87% equity your EV is:
.87 * 63.75 - .13 * 22.75 = 52.505
Note that all of the above disregards rake, so you need slightly more equity to call profitably, and your EV is slightly less than stated.
So yeah, even if he has the two case aces, you still have enough equity to call him (all this really means is that you committed yourself against him with your flop raise)
You have the nuts here!
Most definitely

I did for equity. I just wanted to double-check on my EV calcs. in spots like these.

This is perfect! Thanks for taking the time. My EV was on, but my equity needed to call was off, which sucks because that's something that can be used at the table. Amount to Call/(Pot + Amount to Call) right? Thanks again for the help.
