"Hands that made a difference"

Each week a coach dig up some hands that they have played that they remember as important to them. Mainly because they played it on a high level. The point in this is to show how creative u can really be in LHE.

Instead of discussing standard spots (nothing wrong with that) we get to see the real gold. I think this could be a very good inspiration for many of us!

FWIW, NoahSD does something very similar for NL (if not exactly the same) in his Rewind series. Check it out and see if that is what you're looking for?d

I know DC already has some great PLO stuff but I think the site is missing an Omaha series for absolute beginners starting at the very bottom (e.g. $0.05/0.1). Something like From the Ground Up or Babysteps PLO.

A series for all the NLHE players whose only knowledge about PLO is that you have to use two of your holecards. The outline could be similar to a NLHE beginner course: hand selection, cbetting, 3betting, some equity calculations and ofc some live videos.

Thank u for the tip. Pretty funny his play with 44 in the first ep works really well in limit too Smile!

I liked this format and it was def in the lines I was thinking about. However I originally meant much older hands. Like: "I made this really cool call down in 1995" bla bla. I wanted extraordinary hands. With all the respect for LHE I think u need to dig deeper to get the gold. In NL there are more really interesting hands/100 (I believe?).

Also I wouldn't mind if the coaches talked about live hands played etc. Just some special history that made them take a strange line.

WiltonTilt: Micro limit grinding Part 3

Yes, also because I want to take a shot at becoming his student for this episode, but also because I learn so much from the first serie (haven't watch the second yet)

I would also like to see a challenge between a couple of 6-max coaches: who can beat the micro's/small stakes for the biggest number in a certain period of time.

Ofcourse every episode is dedicated to one coach, and what his aproach is to beating it.
So actually a bit of a mix between "Movin' on up" and "Krantz vs Whitelime"

ve just had an idea for a series.. since most videos are based on a hand been headsup, or basically even in a 6max game isolating fish to get them headsup, we have all become very proficient in these headsup pots.. BUT in multiway pots I am not as good and donkastack more often or try bluffing in spots which can only be explained by some form of retardation.

So can you guys make a series about how to play in multiway pots?

Thanks for the future gold I will win for this new video series

--disclaimer: more constructive feedback than raw creativity--

As a learning, uNL grinder, The Coaching Tree S1, Real Life: uNL Grinder 1+2, and WWJTD? have been the most helpful and engaging series on DC (so far). Something about the coach + student dynamic, even if it's one coach teaching another coach, all while sticking around the same stakes/levels, is just awesome.

Many uNL/SSNL grinders can't afford much coaching, so at least we can get it vicariously through the videos. Clearly you need to cater to mid and aspiring high stakes players too, but I can't really comment on that stuff. (However, the "business" side of me wants to think most of your memberships come from micro + small stakes players, but only you would really know that.)

The "Let's Move Up Through The Stakes" series completely lose me, because I watch 2 or 3 episodes, and then it's out of my level and less applicable to my current stakes. Even over the course of the 8 weeks it takes to release such a series, we just aren't moving up that fast and can't keep up with the material.

Also, powerpoints by definition are dull unless you are Steve Jobs giving a keynote.

In closing, whatever you do, however creative it gets, and whether you use DC members' ideas or not... I feel the coach+coach or coach+student videos that tend focusing on similar limits throughout the entire series is the most useful for me as a learning player.

How about a series where you take a player who is currently struggling (break-even/losing) and the DC coaches transform his/her game and turn him into a shark from a fish. I would be willing to be the student.

I'm grunching here so something similar may have been suggested. I think a video that focused on hand reading in NL 6-max would be amazing, maybe two DC Coaches looking at a hand replayer w/o seeing the cards and talking about what the hands each player may have and why.

also, a series of JUST PLO8 would be good..

I've heard this is a low variance + high winrate game for those who actually understand it

What about a "Boom the red line!"-Series?

One of the most frequently asked questions in poker forums is: "How can I get a positive red line?" or "I have such huge non-showdown losses, what can I do?"

And this question is asked by players from all kind of stakes and all kind of skill level.

I know there are series that can help you with that (Unconventional Wisdom/Remix for example) but it would be great to have a series with just this topic.

Check out the latest episode of Haj School. Wilt does a really good job of discussing this topic!

I haven't read this entire thread, so forgive me if this idea has already been taken.

How about a poker training site vs poker training site showdown. DC vs CR, or DC vs Bluefire, DC vs Stox, etc. Have a coach or a team of coaches take a student at what ever limit they play at and see who can win more money over X amount of hands. Also, along that same vein, have coaches from each site battle each other over X amount of hands to see who wins more(similar to Whitelime vs Krantz vids). Maybe even a tournament made up of only training site members and have everybody battle it out.
