I approve of the new design. And although I use the black forum theme, I quite like the white in the dashboard.

+1 on going back in black

I really like the new dashboard layout.

I think the question is does anyone want the white background? I installed a new version of win7 on my computer that just happened to be around the same time dc updated the layout, and I thought something was wrong on my end for the longest time because the white background looked so weird.

I think only rich black guys really like the blinding white stuff, at least they seem to do so on MTV Cribs

FWIW, it's a grey background now (we toned it down to try to help with readability/contrast).

That said, we've found that the majority of our users use the white background forums (a very vocal minority prefer black), and since we can't offer customizable backgrounds for every page on the site, we're trying to design the dashboard in such a way that it works best for the majority of users.

Since there is a large amount of text on the page readability and skimmability are huge concerns. I know this is something that's going to take a while to get used to because many of you are used to a black background. We are listening and will be looking at the comments we get back, but like I've said in earlier posts the iteration of the dashboard that's most likely going to stick is some version of dark text on white background.

Yea it does... Definitely a lot easier on the eyes...

I like all the recent changes - color gradation and the layout re-org. Thanks!

got to say, i hated the change

now, its awesome, makes it really really easy to see everything thats going on, esp all the threads that i have took part in!
