I really miss a forum part where we can discuss Personal Development, are there any reasons that it doesnt exist? We have a skype goup going but I think it would be way easier if we could put our thoughts on DC. We tried making our own forum but people dont log on to those that often.

zankaa,

The main reason is that DC is focused on Strategy Discussion. We have a few non-strategy forums (R&D & General), but for the most part, DC is designed to be a strategy-focused poker site. As admirable as personal development is, it's not something that we will be providing a specific forum for.

thanks,
Rob

Could just have a big ol' thread for it in general discussion, no? I'm into that sort of stuff off and on. For me it usually involves working out for a week and reading a chapter of some book on Buddhism, before I succumb to the gravitational pull of my couch and computer. Wink

What books on Buddhism would you recommend Zavodovski ? I would like one that maybe tells the story of Buddhas life.

Last night i watched this and found it pretty good ..

Well although I have read a few assorted chapters on mindfulness, (not sure of the volumes - I'll have to rootle around to find them at some point!) I just picked Buddhism as an example as it was the first archetypal 'personal improvement' activity/philosophy that flew into my head, so I'm a little short on recommendations. It's one of those things I've been meaning to read into more extensively for a good while. I just never get around to anything though, hence my previous post Wink

Thanks for those links btw!

Thanks for your reply Rob. So don´t you agree that it might be good to have something like an poker psychology forum? I mean, almost every pokerplayer I know talks a lot about this and with series as the EPTPE and a few of other videos on here I think its pretty clear we have alot to talk about...

I would really like to know if there´s anything we(I) can do as users to make this happen?

Thank you

In my opinion personal development is not the same as poker psychology.

I think that we don't have a large enough base of people posting to add forums for every subniche of poker. This sort of content works great in the General Poker forum, when it's about poker, and when it's about life, can go in Off Topic. Smile

Rob can there be a "How do I play *top4% hand* preflop?* forum that is hidden from my account?

Ty in advance.

There already is.

Btw I don't have an edit/delete button under my post. Have you set my account to hard mode?

Might be a bug. If there's any user we should allow to delete their own posts, it's you.

Should be fixed now. LMK if it isn't.
