Hello DC,
I have been a member for years and have watched, hundreds of hours, of videos, and played over 100K hands.
Am still breakeven at 50nl. If DC and the poker gods are willing I would really like to make a video series.
I really enjoyed all of WoT's micro no limit grinder series and I want to do something similar to this.
Cheers,
Ben

Ha I like the cheek of it. I like these kind of series and would welcome DC to give an offer an opportinty for loyal DC members to participate.
Maybe it should be a group of disperate players brought together, set tasks and goals

tbh I think what's out there is way enough to beat / crush at least micros
not that I'm the big shit or anything, I just think that if you do those training drills and watch the existing videos the "haj school way" you really dont need another "coaching average joe" series
btw a 50NL roll should be enough for some coaching (inavacuum for example(yes this is also a recommendation
): you get 1 session for 1.5 buy ins and if you're BE you still got rakeback)

Hope your on commission. I understand there's lot out there, but videos are entertaining as well as educational, fresh content is always cool.

I think there is a lot of value that can be gained from fresh insights. One coach may explain concepts in one way that make sense to some people but another coach may describe the same concepts but a bit differently that make sense to another group of people.

I donno, what did you think of coaching Kristy?
personally I think Wot's micro no limit series and the coaching tree have been my favorites so far.

I thought that coaching kristy was good, it is actually one of my favorites, but I dont think another series of that kind would add value, because what should be covered that is not already covered?
Because imo the most important thing is correct thinking throughout the hand, like thinking about villains tendencies -> range for doing X (because of what we represent for example), following his range throughout the hand (and our equity vs that), considering postflop play in preflop spots like will I flop equity on flops, what's my plan vs this guy (because of which tendencies and so on)
I think the best way to improve for you would be to apply the "thought process templates" from the "training drills" or "hand readers" series and do the training drills because after those hours of videos you should already have a theory framework
Of course, for the player whose videos are reviewed, this is super beneficial, because now he gets his leaks spoonfed, instead of having to review his hands and decide upon giving up on that flop was good because you are never getting to realize your equity or something.
So what I'm getting at:
I dont think for someone that has watched all the micro vids like coaching tree/kristy and so one,
hearing someone talk about why to 3bet A2s and when to checkraise, when to give up barreling
is beneficial, if he does understand the reasons for doing certain things that is.

Yeah but you have to keep it fresh, the games are different now plus these types of series are more popular because you have "the human" element, i.e. we get to know Kristy (and her dog) and track her progress etc. So you get to know the person rather than just knowing why to x/r.

Question, what stakes do you play?
Also, do you think the ever changing poker game conditions could ever warrant a new micros series?
It just seems that you can defeat most arguments for any new series micros series based on the way you have framed it. If you are done watching micros videos because you find them too basic and want DC to focus on making mid or high stakes videos I get that.
I guess I agree with parts of your arguments, but not all. There are reasons for watching videos other than just education. Firstly they are really entertaining. The back an forth between coach and student doesn't really seem to get old. Personally that's what I like. Education with humour and substance.
Cheers.

Hello DC,
I have been a member for years and have watched, hundreds of hours, of videos, and played over 100K hands.
I've played 100k hands over the last couple of months. It seems to me your sample size may not be big enough. Also, at 50nl and under the rake is gay so I wouldn't expect anybody to be much more than breakeven.
I'm sure you have leaks, just like everybody at your stakes, but if you have indeed watched hundreds of hours of DC videos and are putting what you've learned in practice (and what I mean by this is not doing the same dumb stuff all the shitty 50nl regs do) I would think you could beat the level, even if not by much. The thing is, if you have a positive winrate but under say 3 bb/100 it's totally standard for your AIEV to break even for 100k hands.
Also, have you considered getting coaching? (Besides opening this thread to ask for it for free, of course)

Question, what stakes do you play?
I was playing 50NL aswell but changed to PLO a week or so ago (oh oh, seems like I'm not beating the games
)
Also, do you think the ever changing poker game conditions could ever warrant a new micros series?
not really imo, because I think poker videos shouldnt provide information like: you should chf here because in todays games at 50NL every reg knows that your range is x and does x
because I think everyone is able to figure that out by himself by playing (so he knows villains' ranges) and by applying the theoretical thought process he got in videos like "I wont bet here because he's going to raise me with x x% of the time so I wont ever be able to realize my equity and by checking I'm giving a change to bluff his floats" or something like that and by doing things like the handreading game, flopzilla work and EV calcs
