One other thought for discussion given the recent events. There's a very active free poker league here in Tampa (http://www.showmethenutz.com/) which is where I started learning some live table dynamics after beginning online. The game is a NLHE MTT which plays very different than online. There are typically 30 - 50 players. Sometimes 100+ for monthly tourneys. The play is different in that the blinds go up very quickly starting $25/50 then basically doubling every 15 min. The idea is often to have to games per night. One at 7:00PM and one at 10:00PM. The tables are all very short handed 6 max but often 5 players. Not that we need any videos on this or anything but I'd be interested in some discussion on beating these tournaments. They are mostly crap shoots but it's easy to get sucked into almost blinding yourself out since you will often be fine with 20BBs or so and all of the sudden in 5 min be at 5BBs when the next level hits. Many of these live players don't start pushing around 10BBs so there are some weird dynamics. I think it's fun and I'm always open for exploring the game in different ways as I feel it all adds to experience and builds on itself in some way. Any interest or knowledge of these games might provide some good discussion. Also these leagues provide a poker outlet assuming online isn't an option.

One suggestion that I have (and I thought this long before Black Friday) is ending the idea of seasons. While it is nice to know that every Tuesday Coach X will put out a video, I feel like some series are exhausted after 3 or 4 episodes and they stretch out for too long. Some series (Math Attacks, for example) can go on for 8+ episodes without a problem, but I do not see the reason for an arbitrary 8 episodes of live videos each season.
This way we can see a variety of coaches each month and videos get a little less repetitive.

Obv, the original scope for this series was changed. HOWEVER, they did get some videos recorded before everything changed so yes, CK2 will be coming in a shortened capacity.
This is disappointing to me at least i loved how coaching Kristy was before and enjoyed live play videos more than the power-point ones but this is no ones fault and i guess we will just have to get more euro stuff done.
Also not sure if this has been answered yet but are you guys going to try and get some high stakes euro players i all ways enjoyed watching the hs vids but it seemed to me at least that most of those players were u.s based..

Almost the same point. Do Omakase-type series each season, where one guy works with a series of coaches (maybe 8 for one session each, or maybe 4 coaches for two sessions each.)
Alternate between NL and "another game"...ie NLHE, PLO, NLHE, LHE, NLHE, MTT, NLHE, Live play.

Suggestion - instead of shortening the series (i.e. less episodes), why not just make some of the episodes hand history review and/or theory lessons?

You know, if Kirsty is up for it, they could look at the mini FTOPS HU win.

I don't know if you guys can legally do this without getting in trouble for stealing content, but if Poker After Dark doesn't get shut down, I think it would be really cool to have content that discusses some of the hands that the pro's play. I think this would be especially cool for live play because everyone who was watching would be exactly on the same page about what the gameflow was like, what kind of potential tells were given, who seemed to be on tilt, ect, and we could get some really good discussion going on about the live hands. If you guys can't actually make content about it, I think it would be cool to at least make a dedicated forum for members to discuss the live hands. Lets just hope the keep the show on TV.

- Cartoon-like formats would be cool for hand reading exercises. For example, preflop action happens, hero has a visual of his perception about his opponent ranges. The visual is shown like in a comic book. Combo calcs are made and explained. On the turn after the action, this visual range narrows down and we could see the combos that were eliminated from the range. More combo calcs. The narrator would explain. Same for the river. Hands could be completely hypothetical or real hands played. Suited for online or live.
.
I think this would be a powerful educational tool.
If students/viewers could actually see the range broken down in a visual format and see it change as the action changes.
How would I envision this happening in a video series?
Say you took the format of the buffalo series...where two pros are dissecting say 4 hands per episode....
but now you overlay part of the screen with actual visual representations of the ranges they are talking about...
It is probably unrealistic without a program to do it....
but I can dream about it ....can't I??

That would make the buffalo series (an already amazing series) even better!

If only to say, some people are visual learners rather than by-ear learners. Obviously, putting range graphics matching the conversation into videos would put up production costs, but would certainly steal a march on other sites.
