Advanced Search Tips

Joe Tall Will search for results which contain "Joe" and "Tall" in ANY order in ANY of the fields
Joe | Tall Will search for results which contain "Joe" or "Tall"
Joe +Tall Will search for results which contain "Joe" AND "Tall"
Joe -Tall Will search for results which contain "Joe" but NOT "Tall"
@author:"Joe Tall" Search for results where the author name is "Joe Tall", ignoring all other indexes
"bad beat" @author:"Joe Tall" Search for results where the author name is "Joe Tall" and the post includes the phrase "bad beat"

Content Types
Different content types have special fields that you can do field:"some search".

Forum @author, @body, @topic_author, @topic_title, @forum_name, @forum_description
Example: I could find threads created by Joe Tall by searching @topic_author:"Joe Tall"

Article @author, @title, @content
Example: I could find Tommy's article "The Guiltless Gambler" by searching @title:"Guiltless Gambler"

Coach @author, @bio
Example: I could find Chuckzilla by searching for @author:"danzasmack"

Video @author, @name, @description
Example: I could find all vids by DJ Sensei by searching for @author:"DJ Sensei". I could find all videos with the word "4-tabling" in the title by searching for @name:"4-tabling"

-"bad beat" +author:"Joe Tall" Boolean Searching. Give me all the results where Joe Tall is in the author, and the phrase "bad beat" doesn't exist.

Yeah, search-based RSS is something we don't have, just a wonderful dream. You can subscribe to custom RSS based on topics you subscribe to, but currently that's the only customization you can do for RSS feeds.
