We have had a few threads recently asking about the future of DeucesCracked.

First off: thank you.

All of you have helped contribute to making this an amazing poker training community. It genuinely makes all of us happy to see how much people care and that we are all looking out for each other.

Secondly: we aren't going anywhere.

In the short term, some of our US coaches will likely be focusing more time around coaching-based videos (hand reviews, member-submitted video reviews, etc.) than live play (online) videos. Fortunately for us, we have a superstar roster of coaches centered in Europe and we will be working with them as well. We expect to have more content that relates to live play, including Bart Hanson's upcoming series and more theory-based content as well. We got into this business because we love teaching people to play poker: this will never change.

Here's where we could use your help: when it comes to content, we'd love to hear your thoughts. This is new ground for everyone, so getting feedback from you on what you like and what you don't is more important than ever. Additionally, we have plans to make it easier than ever to subscribe, so signing up for offers like our PartyPoker, Kickoff Poker (Entraction), Betfair and other offers not only should be great for you (we'll be offering more details on these offers soon - but we'll have Free DC, free HEM, and more), but will also help us continue producing the excellent content you've grown accustomed to.

Feel free to post in this thread with any questions you've got. We'll do our best to answer them.

thanks,
Rob

As a European member, I'm glad to read your post Rob.

One thing that I have seen on DC recently that I really liked was Linkwood's coaching giveaways. The format for his recent shorts series has really encouaged some great debate, and I loved the interactivity. I would really like to see more quiz videos as it can be too easy to lapse into a passive learning mode when watching vids (especially if you are watching in the evenings after work), but these are designed in such a way that this isn't an option.

I'm sure the non NLHE members would like to see similar videos to suppliment their learning

Also, something more in the 'Shuffle and flow','Poker Sense', 'Eightfold path' vein would be exciting

Coaching kristy?

Obv, the original scope for this series was changed. HOWEVER, they did get some videos recorded before everything changed so yes, CK2 will be coming in a shortened capacity.

I posted this in the Search and Destroy thread, but I really like Sthief's series. Looking at HH's through a filter allows you to really focus in on certain spots. With live play videos and assortments of HHs, spots just kind of happen and you never really know what you are going to get.

It would be great to have more content at the soft European skins. Since black Friday I moved from FTP to Ongame (registered through DC), games are totally different imo. More Inavacuum vidsSmile

I know a large percentage of people rely on their rakeback program to get free DC membership. With the US ban how will DC encourage US players to either continue paying for the site or to start paying when they have been relying on their rakeback program. My subscription ran out just before Black Friday and I desperately want to stay active and keep my game sharp, but it is hard to make the investment without the ability to apply the knowledge. I am definitely not asking for a handout, I am just curious what the discussion has been regarding this, as I'm sure it has been discussed.

My suggestion would be to try to branch out to do something other than videos - like games or quizzes or something. For example, when I was a member @ Poker VT, they had an interactive game - I think it was called "The Nuts." From what I remember, you were presented with details of a hand / board and had to choose from multiple answers to see how quickly you could identify "the nuts."....maybe someone remembers this better than me. It's be cool to have a PLO version of that game.

That's just a quick suggestion. Personally, I'm completely sick of watching videos as a method of learning. I've watched a ton, and although I respect the players and the work that goes into a vid, they just aren't that much different from each other. Since this is your business, and you guys are all super sharp, I'm sure someone has done research into other methods of distance learning/e-learning/etc...

Another quick thought, -I like to read articles about a specific topic - more articles maybe

+1 on theory vids, especially with HH illustrations of concepts. I still appreciate live play vids, but learn more from the theory vids generally.

Personally I'm expecting DC to continue to primarily be a poker training site with all the content that implies. To oversimplify, poker is poker, and I don't much care whether it's B&M or online as long as teaching how to think about poker and situations is primary.

Kinda dumb suggestion, feel free to ignore - I'm based in Asia, so unaffected by Black Friday (and genuinely disappointed and saddened for all our US based members) - I'm not sure which coaches are based in the US (I can figure out most but not all). Would it be possible to find out location for all coaches at some point, say around the beginning of next season, maybe marked in the coaches' profiles? I realize it's a dumb suggestion because I expect that some coaches currently in the US will relocate, but I'd like to know about several coaches' longevity expectation who's vids/discussions I respect alot at some point in time.

Revive the old format - of what would Joe Tall do!
Does not have to be the king of poisons but I think a quiz with DC prizes is just the tonic for the community.

Also get allwind back for some of his alternative game series.

With respect to some of your high stakes US pros - I would consider going to a poker database and getting some of the pokerstars isildur challenges - get a number of them together to discuss what they think is going on with say Ike vs isildur as one example.

Thanks for the responses guys. We aren't going to be moving away from the video format at all, but we'll definitely take the things you've said into consideration when we start developing the content for Seasons 4-6.

I mentioned this elsewhere but I also would love more theory/concept videos. I actually don't mind audio only at all.

In particular, Improva's interviews with Bart were fantastic. And the 'Some pieces of the puzzle' that he posted some time back I found to be a goldmine.

Maybe a 2 person format works best in those cases... i don't know. But more of that I think would be great.

LIke, i said... the improva audios I mentioned were able to deliver a ton of knowledge even though they were audio.
